I agree with you almost completely, except for the Enjoy By part.

I say DW wins because it actually exists and I can buy it in stores where I live.

 

Then we'll disagree. Hop Stoopid to me is an average beer that can't live up to the top notch DIPAs......in fact for me it can't even live up to Maximus.

 

Sucks is definitely the better beer. DW just has a touch too much booze on it. Plus Sucks is just in the wheelhouse of what I love in an IPA

 

Damn... I've been sampling cat pee all day. Persian is my favorite.

 

Anyone else think Dirtwolf is similar to Head Hunter? Both are amazing.

Maybe you haven't been here in a while? Haven't heard of a thing called 32oz? Sucks=no longer available in 12oz format.

 

I thought that the hop profile of DW was very familiar but couldn't really place what it reminded me of. The more I thought about it the more I thought that it might have been Sucks that it reminded me of but obviously I can't be but so sure since we are so far removed from Sucks being available fresh. As a whole though I would consider them pretty comparable beers that I enjoyed thoroughly. Do wish DW would have come in the 6pack format but it's better than being stuck with bombers or 32oz bottles.

 

Both are great for the $$$$, drinkability and availability.

Both are also overrated.

but what puzzles me is why this (cat piss) would be considered something you'd look for in a beer...

 

I personally hate the smell of cat piss, but love that flavor note in the beer that people describe as similar to smell of cat piss. I don't use the term, but I can see why people use it. I say things like "that savory note that sucks has" or "that almost saline-like taste". A friend of mine says "body odor taste" (also, gross-sounding). I think people use that term because it's such a strong odor that -through it's extremeness - it best conveys the pungency of the flavor note.

But in all honesty, it's not a taste. It's a smell. An I know quite well what cat piss smells like.

Must say I really like DirtWolf. My memory of Sucks isn't good enough to form a comparative opinion.

 

Already had three 4-packs of DirtWolf so far, and don't plan on stoppin'.

That said, Sucks is better.

 

Enough with the fucking versus threads already.

 

I have enjoyed both, but at the end of the day, just give me a fresh growler of COAST Boy King DIPA!
