Bluejacket to open in DC Tuesday, Oct. 29th

Awesome can't wait! Anyone know where the full beer line up is available? Or what'll be available to buy (6ers/750's) there at the brewery when they open?

 

Great to see more development and stuff in the Navy Yard area!

Was anything they poured at SnallyGaster any good? The couple I had weren't anything special.

 

I was very disappointed in the beers they poured at Snallygaster and heard much of the same from others in the crowd.

 

I had their kolsch back during dc beer week when we toured BJ and it was pretty good. The collabs I've had in the past were good too, but I didn't try anything at Snally.

 

Very cool to see them finally open. I'll be down there either next Wed. or Fri. for a visit.

 

I'll have to give the beers a run to in some future visit as well, crossing my fingers for tasty goodness!

 

Oh, god no. Maybe like a month or two after opening, for all the kinks to get worked out.
Never again on an opening night.

The last thing I went to on opening night was Biergartenhaus on H St, which was a nightmare.

That said, I'm excited for this to finally get open. Hopefully it will live up to at least 50% of the hype.

 

Probably won't go opening night, but will get down there sometime in early November.

I also had their kolsch during DC Beer Week, which it looks like they've named Forbidden Planet. Tasty enough on a 95 degree August day.

Really surprised they are opening with 20 house beers. Much more than I thought they'd start with.

 

Given how long they took to open (and how often they dangled an opening timeframe in front of us), the beers BETTER be good ;-)

 

I thought their dry-hopped kolsch was fantastic, but I'm partial to NZ/Aussie hops

I'm planning on going opening night, but expecting a total shitshow. If anyone wants to meet up though - let me know!

 

One of my buddies got to go... I was pretty jealous. I just got the tipsy text messages. I can't wait to hit it up next time I'm in DC.

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten much hype. I was super pumped about this for the last year and am bummed it finally opened when I moved away. It's pretty rad they want to have a sour program.

 

Agreed. I was at the Bluejacket sneak preview BBQ in August and thought the Kolsch dry hopped with galaxy hops was fantastic. I could drink that all day long.
