it was posted much earlier on this thread about can conditioning and aging. I prefer bottles from a labeling and aesthetic stand point, but that's neither here nor there. like you all said, it's about the beer, and if the can helps it taste better, than I am all for it! but I never want places like RR or the Bruery to offer cans.

the plastic inner lining is what has, and will always worry me about cans. Plastic... BPA... you know the deal.

To me cans are a no brainer for most beers/breweries. The exception for me is styles of beers which are able to be aged such as imperial stouts, barley wines, old ales, and barrel aged beers. The reason for this being the BPA as already mentioned will seep into the beer more heavily possibly affecting the quality and taste of the beer. Plus it is a health risk

In theory, I prefer cans. They're lighter, easier to store, no light gets in, take up less recycling space... But in reality, I almost never buy anything in cans. Very few beers that I drink actually come in cans.

Had Anderson Hop Ottin' from a can recently - quite good. I've always enjoyed Dales & Sly Fox as well. Torpedo too.

Like cans a lot. Especially for hoppy beers and beers meant to be drank on canning. Some things like Belgians that bottle age seem best in a bottle if for nothing than tradition. When stored properly a 750 Belgian bottle is just beautiful.

Just snagged a four-pack of Golden Road Wolf Among Weeds cans. Have always enjoyed any time I've had craft beer in cans, however.

Yea, I don't even bother bringing in glass. I don't trash them, they go into the manucipal recycling bin that gets picked up but my recycling center trips will be a lot more worthwhile if I would get a refund for all my beer containers.

I don't mind either way. I usually like to pour a good craft beer in a glass to get the aroma and look of the beer. Although I've had many great craft beers out of the can. ie.) Heady Topper and Resin.

Every time this thread gets re-invented. My go to answer is the price of gas, which at this moment for diesel is 4.39 a gallon.
From a cost of business perspective. When a brewery is shipping a few pallets of 12 oz. bottles, each bottle adds about a half a pound to the overall weight of the product, where as each can adds about .75 ounce to the overall product. Do the math on a 7 tall pallet with 10 cases per row and tell me which one you'd rather pay the transportation costs on.

Mixed feelings about cans. Some beers (Heady, Upslope) tasted great poured into a glass. Dale's Pale not so much. I could still taste a bit of the can. That is why I will always prefer bottles. They are just as easy to recycle as cans, from what I've read. Given a choice, I will always grab for the bottled version first. (If it exists.)

I like having a beer in a can as it's lighter to trash.

however it's going to fight for shelf space. Remember Beer Wars when Sam said something about BMC having not just bottles and cans in the cooler but 12 packs and cases, etc.
