Imperial Reds, seeing as we are willing to call them that, are also my favorite style of beer. Lagunitas Lucky 13 is my favorite Imperial Red.

The occasionally released Lagunitas Imperial Red is pretty darn good too.

Nosferatu, as has been mentioned a few times, is a must. One of the best beers I've had.

Apocalypse Ale Werks Hoppocalypse is a really good one as well that is made in VA.

Red Rocket Ale from Bear Republic is very good. This is a style I don't visit often enough but will have to.

Bootleggers did a collaboration beer with Cismontane and Tusting Brewing Co for the OC BrewHaHa called Hop Monster, that was a great IRA

Agree. Especially for $3.99 for a Bomber at the local Mariano's!

Phenomenal beer. Possibly the best regular-lineup beer that GL produces.

However, and acknowledging that this is splitting hairs, Nosferatu didn't used to be called an imperial red until just a couple of years ago, and was admittedly a marketing decision. Personally I think 'imperial red' is a construct instead of a style.

Barrier Brewing's Red Button (the double to their single Red, Bulkhead, which is also delicious) is a great example.

Nugget Nectar is the standard (out east at least)

I have seen the Lucky 13 on sale for $3.50/bomber. Still wondering why i didn't buy a case of it at that price. probably still drank a case worth :stuck_out_tongue:

Lagunitas Imperial Red was one of the best examples of the style I can remember having. Nugget Nectar a fantastic standout as well. Sadly, and I have no idea why Lagunitas decided to nix Imperial Red from their lineup this year. Much better than Lucky 13 IMHO.

It's been a while since I've had Nugget Nectar, but I remember it more as just an amber IPA, as opposed to a big, crimson, creamy Imperial Red. Although I could be wrong. I'll just have to refresh my memory!

I'm with you on this one. Not that I dislike Nugget Nectar.

Bells This One Goes to 11 is the best beer from this style that I've ever had. Ridiculously good.

Alaskan Pilot Series Imperial Red Ale (with a crab on the label) is delicious!! In fact, I think I might have to pick one up later tonight.

I am also a big fan of Lucky 13, Hop Head Read, and Evil Dead Red.

I know someone has said Bell's This one goes to eleven. I came to say this even though it was a one time release. I have also had Bell's draft only IRA and it is also delicious and I have seen it at a few bars and Bell's events around michigan
