Boogoop was bad?

I was very disappointed with master of pumpkins. I had it in the tasting room last year and this doesn't taste like the beer I remember. LaGrave is solid, but I'd take Golden Monkey at $15 a six pack before I'd pay $14 for four bottles of LaGrave.

 

I prefer LaGrave to GM and most other american made Tripels

I did the side by side with the force carbonated growler and the corked and caged bottle. It started out with the bottle seeming like chewing on a spice pack and they both seemed over spiced when warm. I had the draft and didn't really let it warm just drank it cool.

 

I had it at the brewery last weekend, it wasn't anything special IMO. Kind of a sour for a pumpkin

 

I thought it was super dry but really good.

 

Based on what I read about MoP here and on the beer's review page, I was expecting some pretty nasty stuff when my sister graciously handed me a bottle last week...

But I liked it... a lot. I didn't find it overwhelming, and really enjoyed how the saison yeast meshed with all the spices (and there were a lot of them). I thought it was unique, in a good way. I even let the 2nd glass warm up a bit to see if it would pull out more of this outrage-inducing spiciness. I know, I know, taste is subjective blah blah blah. I was just kinda of shocked after reading such negative reviews about the brew.
