Prairie Bomb in DFW?

Sorry for the late response, but those were only for sample. bomb should be available in November in Texas

 

Since the price was $8 in Chicago and $7 in Texas what was the price around Oklahoma City?

 

It varied from 5-8. With a couple of places charging $12

 

$5-8? I need to find a new liquor store. I got soaked for $12 & change. Of course I had the decency to leave plenty on the shelf.

I know bomb in California goes for $9.99. They got blue wax about two weeks ago

 

So California gets Bomb before Texas? Sounds about right.

Also we need a bottle shop next to Winstar. Make that drive a little more worth it.

 

HopAg...you got hosed! You need to find a new store. The latest Bomb release (mid October 2013) had a case price just short of $80 for a case of 12... that makes it around $6.65 per bottle to the retail store. At a 20 per cent markup that would be $8.00. My store does 16 per cent on ALL beer... some stores may goes as high as 25. Anything above that is a outrageous. The people at your store are NOT your friends. Around Tulsa...it was going for $7.99 to $8.50. Considering the shipping charges to other states, $10.00+ per bottle may not be out of line.

 

So far this thread has gone 2 pages with zero results.

had pirate bomb and prairie bomb side by side again yesterday. can't wait for bomb to make it to texas..

 

Bomb is gooda, and I think it is better than Pirate bomb, personally...albeit not by much

 

Haven't had pirate bomb yet but regular Bomb is so damn good.

I didn't like Pirate Noir nearly as much as the other Noirs (I think I had whiskey and wine barrel, not sure if I ever had regular). Can't quite put a finger on why, but does anyone else have a similar opinion on Bomb or Noir?

 

Pirate Bomb and Pirate Noir are nothing alike. Yes, they're both rum barrel aged, but I got lots of fusel rum on Pirate Noir as opposed to almost no rum barrel character on Pirate Noir, just an overall sweetness. Also, "regular" Prairie Noir was whiskey.

 

I got barrel, but it wasn't overly obvious it was rum. You could have told me it was bourbon and I probably would have believed you.

And then would have called you a liar when I found out later...

 

Ah thanks, thanks for the reminder on Prairie Noir. That explains why I hadn't had "regular"

I know they aren't alike overall I was meaning more how did the rum barrel affect both compared to the base beer, which you described well

 

Only saw Noir in the recent label approvals. I hope we still see bomb in Nov.

 

they made me re-submit abv tests for the coffee and vanilla Noir, the abv test for Noir wasn't good enough to cover all 3.

 

I think you were mistaken. You were supposed to send them to my house so I can test the abv.

 

Sorry to revive an old thread but Strangeways started carrying Prairie Bomb and Prairie Noir on tap! They also have Pairie Bomb out of the bottle pink wax.
