DC/MD/VA Rumpkin 2013 Watch Thread

Unless I'm mistaken, Avery doesn't distribute to Maryland anymore....

No Rumpkin in VA

 

Brewery release is 9/22, so I would expect 2nd week of Oct. Starting 9/22 I will be calling every DC bottle shop weekly to find it. I love this stuff and missed it entirely last year

 

Pretty sure Total Wine has been getting the Avery special releases... Got Samael and Beast there.. I've never had this and will be calling them on the regular starting in a few days.

 

Any word on this yet? Rumpkin was officially released Sunday

 

Aly said that a Total Wine buyer tld her last week that VA wasn't getting any Rumpkin specifically this year. She said the dude sounded pretty knowledgable... So hope it hits DC???

I really want to try this one but wow... $13.99. I'm not that deep in the game yet.

 

Not sure. They had probably 8-10 bottles as of noon. At that price I bet they still have them. Not that it's a bad price, it's just a damn expensive beer.

 

I know. Expensive... I've been wanting to try it though..

^^^ My review from last year of the 2011 vintage. Reviewed it with a year on it. It's a very solid beer...I would say if you are a fan of pumpkin beers and/or very malt forward barleywines, you could do worse than drop $15 on a bottle of Rumpkin. Certainly worth a tug.
