Black Tuesday Release Party

Agreed, Brought a Kane growler of their DIPA to clusterfork, it was well well well received.

 

If anyone has an extra ticket for the first session on Tuesday, please let me know. One of my buddies really wants to go and I don't have an ticket for him.

We can work something out.

Tonight was great! I thoroughly enjoyed all the BT variations but I really hope to see Some Mo' Black Tuesday in the future. I think it was the only one of the night that ran out.
So glad I was finally able to make it to a BT release party. It was really nice this year to not have to fight for bottles online or fight for leftover pours of the special variations. My RS membership proved to be worth very penny

 

Wait, they ran out? How does that work? MattOlesh had said that we would all be getting the same 7 pours, so there shouldnt be any running out, right?

 

Maybe they only had a certain amount per session, to make sure everyone got the same 7 pours at each party.

 

I think that was it & it was at the last call time that it ran out. My one friend got the last pour & they had to tilt the barrel to get it out. 2 guys next to us missed out but I shared a sip with each of them.
So I think the portioning was very close but my tip would be get the special variants earlier on just in case.

Also the pours were not served flight style, it was one glass at a time. I luckily brought a couple extra glasses from home so I was able to transfer my pours into those & make my own flight. That way they had warming time but I could keep collecting pours.

 

Also I was in the second Session last night, so when it ran out it was about 9:15 & last pour was 9:30. The raspberry & Some Mo' where in small silver barrels at the reserve counter (sorry don't know the exact name for them). The boysenberry was being served on cask at the other end of the bar with the other pours. Kinda makes sense to me that they wouldn't tap another one with less than 15 min left.

I respectfully request the Bruery put those glasses for sale online for the Hoarders members that can't make the party!

 

Where is the party anyway? I assume it's not in the tasting room as they'd want to have that open for normal business.

 

I was at the first Tuesday session
Very nicely run. Staff/servers were working hard but it didn't seem too awful for them. (though Wed morning pick ups for BT looked nasty ..their service is really great there though)
Food truck was solid.
I feel like 13 BT is thinner than 12...I dunno.... and as everybody says Melange 1 is still underrated greatness.
As predicted, BT with Boysenberries was totally amazing. Better than S'more for sure.
The raspberry is very interesting; you'd never even know it contained BT if you weren't told.

And of course unlimited Hottenroth >> unlimited Red Barn....


Also if anybody would be kind enough to consider picking up a Black Tuesday shirt for me from the Saturday session Id be forever grateful

I had two tickets but my plus one didn't show (though I met some groovy cats .. jmartinez is cool as hell) but the upshot was that I drank a LOT of beer...and I kinda left my tee shirts and tasting glasses at the The Bruery..I went back the next day but alas they hadn't found anything. They had allocated a set number of shirts per session so although they were kind enough to sell me a large to replace the one I'd lost there were no XXLs left.

So, sad drunk panda that I was, I left sans big manly tee shirt.

If anybody could score me an XXL I'd reimburse plus give you a nice bottle. Please let me know.
