Yes. Brewed at Westbrook. Same base as IBB but has no coffee in the boil and instead of almonds and vanilla it is sour cherry purée and vanilla

Same here. Most evil twin beers at my lbs is pricey and collecting dust. I payed $17.99 + tax. I hope it starts snowing like crazy, mix rain and flurries for today's forecast.

I picked up a few bottles. Drank one and loved it. I'm getting a couple of friends together and going to do a vertical of IBB, the Decicco's version and Natale. Should be a good time.

Had this last weekend. Very dissapointed. No coffee, very thin, cherry seems artificial.

Why even use Imperial Biscotti Break in the name then? When I think of a "Biscotti Break", I think coffee. This seems like they are trying to cash in on the name.

But biscotti is usually served with a drink and in the U.S. (main market for this beer) that drink is almost always coffee. And why call it "Biscotti Break" if there are no almonds in it.

I understand it's the same base but Base + Vanilla + Cherries is pretty different from Base + Vanilla + Almonds + Coffee and the almonds and coffee seem to be the ingredients providing the "Biscotti Break" name. Somewhat like calling Nightstalker "Bourbon County Hop Stout".

I love arguing semantics as much as the next guy and all but seriously? Should authentic Italian restaurants in America cease to use veal, pork and beef in their meatballs because Fazoli's only uses beef? Or more accurately should the authentic place not be called authentic because they don't serve doughy little breadsticks with the meal because Fazoli's does it that way? Or can they just get on doing things they way they chose and not be accused of "trying to cash in on the name" because a consumer simply doesn't understand the full concept of that name?

So there can be no variations sans coffee without it being "an attempt to cash in on a name"? A bit of a scathing acusation. I was simply pointing out biscotti has no coffee in it so does a beer with the name biscotti in it need to have coffee.

It's called imperial biscotti break because it has coffee and almonds and biscotti happens to be made from almonds and often paired with chocolate. Imperial Biscotti Break is not the name of the base beer. Lil' B is the base beer, if I am not mistaken. So Natale is basically cherry vanilla Lil' B.

So yeah, I'm on the side of the people saying it is an attempt to cash in on the name of a beer that already has huge popularity in the beer world.

Think of it like Founder's Breakfast Stout Natale
No Coffee, no Chocolate, but cherries added to the base FBS stout.

Defeats the whole "breakfast stout" part that people associate with the beer. And your response is, well there's not always coffee at breakfast.
