Velvet Merkin - Jersey Edition

PA has had pretty much the same schedule, except we got DDBA already.

 

Yeah, I often see (and have bought) Union Jack less than 1 month old in central NJ - distributed in the counties covered by the AB houses High Grade and Ritchie & Page. Further south I think FW is also carried by AB houses - Konrad and Harrison Beverage.

 

I got a bottle of Velvet Merkin coming from my cousin in California. Place he went to only got a case and he got the last 2. Cant wait to try it.

 

NASH only does part of Northern NJ. I believe High Grade doe the NorthWest portion of NJ. Being in Morris County, I'm not sure if my local stores fall under Nash or High Grade, either way, Firestone products are hard to come by and limited releases are almost impossible.

 

To show how late Northern NJ is to get Firestone stuff, Double DBA just showed up at various NNJ locations. They have it at Stew Leonards in Clifton, Shoppers Vineyard in Clifton and the Firestone beer finder shows various other locations like Gary's in Wayne, Bottle King in Wayne and Beverage Warehouse in Totowa as all having it. Picked up 2 bottles at Stew's since I've never had it before. Now hopefully we get Velvet Merkin by Christmas.

 

Just talked to the Nash rep. Probably gonna be as limited as Parabola...~20 cases for all of their area and basically telling stores they're not important enough to get a case.

My Nash rep said it's not coming east of Chicago. Take it with a grain of salt cause he's lied to me in the past.

 

In the Nash territory just assume it'll show up if it shows up. Probably won't tell accounts until the day before but if it comes you can assume parabola low numbers. But they honestly won't know until a day before they tell you. The craft manager doesn't share any info with sales reps and has a secret stash in the warehouse and doesn't list available items in the Nash system.

 

I'm not sure where Nash covers, but I was told from a store owner in Morris County that he was told he was getting it. But who really knows I guess.

 

Morris is High Grade, so it's possible.

 

Firestone is one of those brands that shows up when it shows up, wether it be highgrade or nash we find out the day before that there is a case coming. DDBA just showed up in NJ. the problem with velvet merkin is that they are waiting for approval from the abc to sell the sku, whenever that happens the shipment will be sent to nj if, again if firestone decides to hold the product for us

 

Just drank one if these that I got from California. Amazing. Hope it comes to nj so I can get more

 

Sounds like NJ has a worse relationship with FW than MD does. Not sure that was possible. Hopefully, we can get Merkin and XVII by the new year. However, I will have more money in the new year since so much stuff is coming out in the next two months.

 

Any new updates? I've read on the New England forums that Velvet Merkin started hitting the shelves in Mass.
