Any lines on hotel discounts yet? I feel like it's getting way to close for comfort for me not having a hotel at this point...

what is the best educated guess as to what Goose Island will bring? Or have they confirmed it elsewhere and I'm just missing it?

I'm guessing Coconut and Bramble may make an appearance from Fulton, and probably the blending station thing.

    Clybourn... Cthulhu? Why not.

Just my guess, they'll probably have regular BCSBS, one of the bottled variants, and some special variant that's not bottled (Apple Brandy Koval?). They've had King Henry the last two years, I'd like to see it again this year.

No idea what the brewpubs will bring but a few of the anniversary beers would be expected.

Breweries are limited to 3 entries this year for individual locations.

Breweries with multiple locations are limited to 2 entries per location.

For example, Half Acre could enter 3. Destihl could enter 6. Goose Brewpubs could enter 4.

    And so on..

As I understand it, this has limited Rock Bottoms on entries.. even though they are only connected loosely to the other locations. I'd be curious to hear if they consider Fulton loosely connected to the brewpubs as well (limiting them to 2).

So.. it'll be interesting to see how breweries play that reduction in possible entries. Play it safe? Go with highly experimental stuff? Afterall, it is a contest.. one of the ultimate goals is to medal.

I think this is only for the competition. Brewers can bring more if they want, but only a certain amount can be entered for judging. Or maybe I am full of shit.

Pretty sure every beer you pour on the floor @ FoBAB is in the competition.

The barrel blending seminar/booth by Goose likely being an exception to that last year.

I know other competition/festivals like GABF allow you to pour beers on the floor not in the competition and to enter beers into the competition NOT being poured on the floor.

But, I can't say that for sure that I'm right or you are right.

I asked the Clybourn brewmaster last night at Beer Academy what they were bringing and he told me Cthulhu, Flanders Red and some "secret" thing that I have since forgotten the name of.

Well, that's two fewer beers I need to rush to try. I'm trying to prioritize new things over stuff I've already had.

Just booked at the South Loop Hotel. I stayed there last year for FOBAB and it was a great place. It is within walking distance (we walked back, probably not the best idea....). Or it's a cheap cab ride there. Plus free parking.

This will hold me over until I see what hotel discounts the ICBG offers.

Somebody at Goose told me what they were bringing a few weeks ago, but I can't remember all 3 any more.

Pink Lady Apple 2 More Weeks for sure and I think Bourbon County Barleywine. Can't remember the last one.
