CCB fanboy here also. My only suggestion for some alternate FL goodness that definitely cracks a top FL five would be to try the next time Doug releases a RareDos or a RarerDos from Cycle brewing. Best beer I've ever had.

They're awesome, and I haven't been in Iowa for like a year, so, you know, blow me.

 

I would have agreed with this two years ago, but I have good news for you, I think things are changing! You should go check out Fate Brewing in Scottsdale. I've also heard Arizona Wilderness in Gilbert is great but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Also Dragoon and Borderlands in Tucson and Wanderlust here in Flagstaff where I am. These places are all quite new (1-2 years old) and already doing really exciting things! West Coast style IPAs, stouts inspired by candy bars and porters with whole pecan pies thrown in, sours and barrel-aged beer. Wanderlust is even making a Gose right now! Sometimes Mudshark and Four Peaks put out really cool stuff too like Marshmallow Stout and Peach Lunacy (double Full Moon wheat with peaches) from Mudshark and Double Knot and Sirius Black RIS from Four Peaks. Good beer is out there, just takes some digging and, often, good timing in AZ. Hope this helps make life in this state a little more tolerable for you. Cheers!
