That's what I was referring to. I had no idea where the brewery was but I might have to go check it out. Do they give tours?

Don't pass up Karben4! Located in Ale Asylum's old space, these guys are putting out a really great lineup of beer. Small, still not bottling, but I dare you to leave without a growler. Second best brewery in Madison, IMO. Behind NG of course.

Next Door Brewing in Madison has excellet food. Nothing to really see in terms of brewery but how many times can you look at a bunch of stainless tanks?

Riverwest Stein is a solid beer. NG does brew a few great lagers, though (Two Women is among the best I've ever had).

Lakefront brews two beers that I buy regularly (Riverwest Stein & IPA). New Glarus brews eight or nine that I buy multiple times a year. And as far as special releases go, NG just brews better beer.

I'd love to see Lakefront open up even more (the My Turn series is great, but only the first one has really been memorable- the latest Kolsch is really good for it's style, but a Kolsch as a special release is a really, really safe choice). Does Lakefront have the brewing chops to keep up, or are they happy resting on their laurels? No reason they couldn't be up there with Great Lakes, Founders, Bell's & New Glarus as a nationally-recognized Midwestern brewery.

That's why Lakefront is a can't miss in Milwaukee. Really incredible tour, always fun, lots of beer to drink along the way.

Another recommendation for this, with Red Eye added to the end, as they have very good beer and excellent food.

Although I'm not a big fan of their beer, the Point brewery tour was surprisingly good because of the age of the brewery and the fact that they bottle for many smaller breweries -- an aspect of the business you seldom get to see inside.

Agreed. When I toured it, our guide was pretty loaded. Made for a fun tour

Milwaukee Brewing Company for their Saturday Open House. Lakefront gives a good tour. Plenty of info and funny.
