Evil Twin Bourbon Barrel Imperial Biscotti Break

No idea on the make obviously. Appears that the barrel however, is a tight grain barrel, denoted by the TG. Meaning it's a tighter grain wood, and will extract the oak at a slower pace.

Whoever painted them, did NOT want someone to know where it came from. Double spray on the info.

 

Yes. It was the same paint on every barrel

 

Were they all painted that heavy when you got them in? Any that are more clear? I'm sure they aren't some massive high end boubon, but if it was something like Heaven Hill barrels, that would be a good note for some to know.

I've seen Makers barrels with the similar font/marking of the grain, and barrel number, and they keep a pretty low key amount of info in the middle...Pretty sure it's makers actual

 

They are all painted the same. I checked them all

 

How long was it aged?

 

Since January of this year. 9 months give or take

 

Evil Twin and Westbrook are both distro'ed here through Savannah Distributing, but the allotments aren't the same. Lately though we've seen more Evil Twin than usual so I wouldn't be surprised if we got some in the Atlanta market. Hoping we'll see some more Old Time versions too in bottle but I'm not crossing my fingers too tightly.

 

I'll def be keeping my eyes peeled for this to hit. This is a beer to drink immediately that's for sure. A side by side w fresh IBB would be amazing as well.

Also, I was out of town when Grumpy hit...but hoping Funky shows up while I'm here! While I haven't tried Rummy, I think Funky was my fav.

Wonder if South FL will be seeing this in distro... we did get regular IBB, right?

We got regular IBB, but I doubt we'll see much if any of the BA one.

 

Darn. I guess we can always hope that one of the big buyers like Tap 42 or Lokal to get some pull for a keg to come down here, if possible.

 

No kegs all of it was bottled.

It is on shelves in Upstate NY ... just scored two bottles at 24.99 per ... not too shabby

 

Looking forward to trying this one, but would look forward even more so to seeing Westbrook cross the NC line and hit CLT! Love your beers and try to make a trip across the border every couple months to grab up what I can.

 

I'd almost bet money Julian at Riverside gets some.

 

We get a fair amount of Evil Twin down here since Brown distro's for 12% in Florida. Hopefully we will see some of this but I won't hold my breath
