It's the equivalent of a Saturday night in my wonky week

I need a REALLY good beer
so I turn to Cheshire Brewhouse
    & their Engine Vein
reminds me of the night a spent in Alderley Edge cave

    Boggarts Cascade
the more I drink from this brewery, the less I like
    oh dear
It isn't terrible but it isn't great and considering the price I paid I am most disappointed.

    Blimey it's nearly 4 AM
better make this the last beer
Sadler's Thin Ice extra pale ale
in no ways exceptional, not even in colour but fairly drinkable

I need to get to bed but
I need to end with a tasty brew & that Sadler's Thin Ice wasn't it
This Dalva does seem to be though

and a good French beer to boot
but then again where can you go wrong with a 8.5% strength
    American style double IPA?

annual comrades inspection of York Pub interiors yesterday, started at York Tap with Tapped Brew Co. Ember which was very tasty smoked Red Ale, followed by Mallinsons Citra. Moving on through various pubs and some, at times, disappointing beers I finished at Pivni where I enjoyed Hawkshead IPA (keg), Oscar Blues Dales Pale Ale (can), Stillwater Artisinal Stateside Saison (bottle) finishing with Drei Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend (bottle).

Mallinsons tap takeover in the toon yesterday, nice!

Small chain craft bar for lunch, balked at the prices of the craft keg, made Brew Dog look a bargain. Voted with my feet. Also felt taken for a mug by prices in the specialist bottle shop. Looks like the end for me I'm afraid.

Home brews for tonight and I have to say I love the novelty of pouring from a real tap rather than just a bottle.

I'm about to start at ground zero. A three way taste test between canned Fosters, Carling and Grolsch. The test will be to actually be find taste of any kind. Stay tuned.

My money is on Grolsch which has the tiniest taste of hops
then Carling which has a minuscule whiff of Barley
and lastly Fosters which I have to pass the turd factory it is skanked from every work day
