I realize NY isn't quite New England, but couldn't decide the appropriate region. I'm visiting in-laws in Englewood NJ and will be driving through NYC. I see on Bell's brewery website they distribute to NY now? Is there anywhere in or immediately around they NYC area that I can find/buy Bell's Beers or any other "epic" beers? (within 40 min drive).

Not in NYC, but the DeCicco stores have a good selection. Try the Armonk store right off 684 if you are coming from that way. You can also try the Harrison store if you are coming down 95.

I'll be making a similar trip this week, so thanks for the advice. Will I have similar luck finding jai alai cans?

Not sure on Jai Alai. It has been around at DeCiccos. If they got another delivery then yes, but probably sold out if they only got the first delivery. Found Jai Alai this week at Tri-Boro beverage in Astoria. Otherhand DeCiccos had multiple displays of Bell's stuff. Harrison DeCiccos doesn't get as much beer traffic as the others, so you may have luck there.

Hmm I am going to be staying just outside NY in Englewood NJ. Having a hard time mapping out those suggestions on my phone. Are those all upstate or anything close to where I'll be?

You should be able to land Jai Alai cans at DeCicco's. They've gotten a few shipments now.

Since you said you are driving through NYC to get to NJ I am assuming you are coming from the north. If you are driving along 95 from points north I suggest Port Chester Beer Distributors. They had two hearted and a couple other bells as well as Jai Alai. It's like 8 minutes of 95, quite good selection (a few different Firestone Walkers and Evil Twin Molotov were there as well)

Either one should be on you way down if you are driving. Armonk is exit 3 off 684. Harrison and Port Chester are both off 95. Port Chester is just south of Greenwich and Harrison is two towns south of that on 95.

Harrison DeCiccos is 7 Halstead Ave Harrison, NY

Armonk DeCiccos is best option for "epic" beers. Oh yeah and it has a bar In the store . Some of the rarer beers will be behind the bar. Port Chester tends to have a good volume, but not as epic. Harrison DeCiccos has a smaller selection.

Thank you all! I stopped at the Decicco 's in Harrison on the way down thanks to the advice I read on here mid trip. Two kids and the back seat and wife driving weren't as excited as I was to go 20 minutes out of the way for beer but theyll live. I scored 2 six packs of Jai Alai, two six packs of Bells two hearted ale, and a six pack of bells stout. I was told hop slam was only seasonal? :slight_frown:

Ya, Hopslam in January and we won't be getting any this year.

Anyone had Oarsman? Reviews seem mixed, was thinking of grabbing it for the wife...

That sucks. Haven't had Oarsman. I gotta say the Jai Alai was quite good. I'd put it right up there close to some of the VT stuff in my fridge. Your lucky you can get it locally now.

If you are looking for a traditional Berliner, this isn't it. If you are looking for a tasty lacto fermented beer of a milder nature, this is your baby.

Just saw the standard 6ers for the first time in Westchester - Beer Necessities in New Rochelle and at Trader Joe's. Anyone know if/when they'll be getting Expedition Stout?
