Haymarket is bringing some goodies. They had my favorite last year and, from what I've heard, they will be bringing it again but aged longer in barrels.

and speaking of pre-FOBAB events, northdown has a Side Project party.

St. Louis-based all Barrel Aged brewery, Side Project and Chicago's own Off Color are helping spearhead what's going to be an amazing night of BA beers to kick off the FOBAB. Rare bottle pours from Side Project and a special one-off BA beer from our friends at Off Color. Other rare BA beers, including Firestone Walker Velvet Merkin & Agrestic, Southern Tier Oak Aged Back Burner 2012 and Arcadia Bourbon Barrel-Aged Shipwreck Porter Baltic Porter will be pouring, along with a few surprises.

Stop by and have a beer with Cory from Side Project and Dave and John of Off Color from 8pm - 10pm. Tappings/bottle pours start at 5pm -- don't miss out!

Would that be Clare's Thirsty Ale, Indignant or Acrimonious?

Looking for an extra early session ticket, if anyone knows of one please BM me, if you need incentives (in addition to the face value of the ticket of course) I'm coming from DC area, so DC Brau's On the Wings of Armageddon and other good stuff could be arranged.

Haymarket's Clare's Thirsty RIS was one of the unsung heroes of last year's event.

3/4 days away 'till my first FOBAB!!!

Can not wait!!! Also look forward to redeeming myself by acting like a responsible adult and not overconsuming!

Hopefully it lives up to the hype/expectations, it seems like there is usually or should be more amazing offers than one can keep track of(at least after sipping a few samples hehe)..

Also super stoked about the transportation logistics they've set up, I will REALLY appreciate the ride back to the train station. I hate cabs.

I'm asssuming the BA crowd going to the night vs. day session is probably pretty even but ya never know....

    Night session for me!

So I've heard session 1 is better than session 2.

    Any truth to this statement?

Does session 1 go thru certain beers and those aren't available during session 2 or something?

Nope. Both sessions will have equal amounts of each beer.

everything should be the same per the rules but here is one reason I am mildly bummed I got the first session, early admission. If all the early admission folks crush all the beers I'm lookin forward to, by the time I walk in a hour later and look for lets say BA Abraxas, it probably blown by the time I work my way through the various lines. Last year cherry BCS and others kicked shortly after opening due to this, so you might be better off with later.

Respectfully, no one particularly cares about your redemption -- just, please, don't put lives at risk following this beer event.

Good reminder to everyone attending to enjoy FoBAB responsibly.

im a little surprised you're not an imbibe member. its paid for itself at least twice over for me in savings at half acre alone.

I was drinking BA Abraxas all the way through the early session last year. maybe the hype has caught up with it. at the end of the day, there are more than enough whales swimming around the room. though, this is why i'd like a beer list in advance. at least i could plan ahead to hit the tables i want most. oh well, insert beer here (i'm pointing to my mouth).

I had several large pours last year, nobody else was even near the station most of the night - I'm guessing that'll be different this year.
