I haven't seen fresh stuff in SE MI in a while, but I've seen plenty of it around. BM me if you need some.

Still bombers sitting around up here...I think it's been at least 1.5 years since they packaged in bombers, but I could be wrong. It ages nicely.

4 packs, correct. Champagne's had them in September & then I saw them at Horrock's in Lansing in early October.

I just picked some up in Northwest, OH so somewhat close to SE Michigan--it was the august bottling.

Quick question for anyone in the know as I don't believe I have any old bombers laying around but has this beer always been "aged in bourbon barrels" ? I only ask this because on other sites there are two listings for Pilgrim's Dole.

From what I understand, this beer has always been partially bourbon barrel aged. The older bombers didn't say that on it, as the older Dragon's Milk bottles said Oak Barrel Aged. Buzz words, New Holland finally caught on.

Pretty much the same thing I had heard from New Holland brewers/reps a couple years ago. I believe they would often use second use Dragon's Milk barrels for Pilgrims Dole. With Dragons Milk, the barrels may have been reused for multiple batches, at least in the past. The flavor profile of recent batches of Pilgrims Dole leads me to believe that the barrels being used have not been recycled as many times as they may have in the past, though I was told the process has not changed at all.
