This might have already been addressed (this thread is 7 pages long), but has it been announced when or if this is going to make it to DVD? For some reason I was able to pick up the first show, but it hasn't been available on my cable provider since...

I watched the first episode last night and thought it was a good show. What was the name of the beer made with peppers and kelp? At the end they asked the customers to vote if they liked it or not. What was their answer? My dvr cut it off at the end.

The answer at the end of every show has been to.... drink it...

Understandable... the crowd is on tv.... they are getting to hang out at a cool brewery with the owners and brewers...

and truthfully... all of these guys know how to brew good beer... so I doubt any of it is terrible.... probably just relates to if you like the style they are trying or not..

For the record, I enjoy the show for what it is.... entertainment using craft beer and cool cities/breweries around the USA. Fun stuff.

Is it just me or does Martin's accent sound similar to Adrian Paul's faux Scottish accent in the highlander tv series ( they both also have the ponytail and side burns!). Seriously though, the accents while thick are completely discernible. True Scottish brogue's are so thick I could guarantee you that nobody here would be able to understand a word. People need to understand that this is NOT the Michael Jackson beer hunter series. It's not a complete education or even really an education. It is a gimmicky modern day reality tv show that has been scripted from beginning to end. I really did feel like it was a good source to highlight unknown breweries, beer bars, restaurant's and even tea shops! I actually thought the vaporized beer was quite awesome! My only dilemma is that they passed over quite a few good Seattle locations in the Seattle episode, and since with the exception of Portland I have not been to the other cities, I am sure that they passed over other great locations as well ( probably some sort of network agenda).

The Portland one definitely had some shenanigans. On the list of top 5 breweries, the 5th one was McMenamins, and it's highly likely that the only reason they were on the list was because they "donated" the kegs that were used to build the raft for the brewing segment.

McMenamins isn't the worst thing in the world, but it's mediocre at best. How you could pick them over Upright, Commons, or Cascade is mind boggling. In the tasting segments they even had beers from those three so it seems pretty obvious that at least one of their actual favorites got dropped off the list due to "budget considerations."

I love it. I thought these guys were hipster, douches before the show aired. Now, I like them.

I did return and watch the Boston episode. I thought it a bit over the top with the wort hot tub thing - as a person in the food business I had to cringe over that one, but whatever. I did like the interaction with Jim Koch otherwise. And I suppose brewing a lobster/clam beer isn't that far removed from an oyster stout. And there were a few people they interviewed who said they did not like it. I thought the engineering behind the on ship brewing kettles was pretty interesting. They did seem to cut down on the innuendo some. It's entertaining, not too thought provoking, and certainly nothing to over-analyze or look to for a solid learning experience. I think that is the mind-set needed to watch it - just mild entertainment, couple guys enjoying themselves that happen to be associated with beer. But I still don't need to watch the reruns...

I watched Boston the other night and thought it was the best episode yet. I also loved Jim Koch's quote from his father....."son life is hard, and its really hard if your stupid".

    Thought that was hilarious.

Also is it just me or when those guys say at the end of every episode "Hello" "How Are You"...I'm then waiting for "my name is Arnold Horseshack". That never happens and I'm disappointed.

I probably like this show more than a lot of you because I pretty much live in a beer wasteland and seeing all these awesome drinkin' establishments with so many choices is very inspiring, makes me want to go to these cities and vacation for about a month each. I hate traveling by the way. There should be a bus that goes around the country and picks up folks and makes stops in all the major brewing cities...I think I would like to ride that bus.

I looked back on this forum and couldn't find this topic. My wife and I both enjoyed Brew Dogs http://tv.esquire.com/shows/brew-dogs and have been DVR'ing it, but the last two weeks, nothing. I can't find if it's canceled or not (like how I spelled canceled correctly??).
Anyone here a fan of the show? I enjoyed it and hope it's not kaput...
I apologize if this topic is old and stale.

Oh snap!! All the episodes were great. I think the Anchor Steam was my favorite. I hope it was successful and continues on...

Also with a new network, they may want to try different show to see what plays out best.
