Fuck me, I couldn't help myself and maxed out on all three this time. And will buy plenty more Rueuze in the future.

Silly question, but I might have missed it in this thread:

Have either of the two mystery beers come out yet?

1 bottle of Mystery beer #1 and 1 bottle of Mystery beer #2 are INCLUDED with our membership, correct?

Thanks in advance for the info!

    Cheers

As if there was any doubt at this point:

    Happy Friday Society members,

Three exciting announcements for you on this fabulous Friday morning.

First of all, we are very excited to announce that the second Mystery Beer of 2013 is none other than The Wanderer and it will make it's debut at our Barrel Party! This fruited sour ale was first brewed along with some friends from City Beer Store in San Francisco back in 2011, when it won a Silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival. It is a unique blend of a number of our barrel aged strong ales and sour ales to which we added blackberries and cherries. A bottle of this beer is already included in your membership and further allocations will be on sale soon.

Second - the list of beers for the Barrel Party is printed below and it is HUGE. We also have a few surprise casks that we'll be adding, but we'll keep those under wraps for the time being.

And finally, because of the late announcement on the beer list, we'll be giving you a couple of extra days to purchase your tickets if you haven't already done so. Sales will be ending at 11:59pm on Sunday, 11/10.

Visit www.TheBrueryStore.com to make your purchase today!

    Cheers!

    The Bruery

Anyone swing by the Tasting Room on Monday to try the new batch of Grey Monday?

I had some at the release party, but my palate was pretty much blown by then.

I tried the first batch at the initiation party and thought it was amazing. Rich, almost chocolaty hazel flavors much like the Ferrero Rocher candy that is around at the holidays (Makes me want to blend a CR and GM). I also got to try the 2013 batch at the BT release party. I felt this batch is a little more dry roasty hazelnut flavor. Both very good but not exactly what I remembered from the first go. Very much like trystero said, the palate was pretty shot for a fair tasting by each of those points so I'll have to wait for a bottle or stop by at the right time to get a more dedicated review.

I loved the batch 1 (even though it is pretty rich but not as syrupy as the anniversary & Xmas beers). Hopefully more reviews trickle out this week from the Tasting Room keg.

I'm hoping to see Melange #3 on tap soon, preferably on Friday since I'll be up there to pick up allocations before a concert. M#3 is usually a massive blind buy for me (easily my favorite Bruery beer), but with the White Oak Sap tartness, I'd like to see how it works in the blend before committing to any extra bottles after the initial allocation period.

Yeah, not seeing this on draft yet has concerned me a bit honestly.

It looks like we have this planned for an 11/18 tapping. Of course, plans can easily change, so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement before coming in. I'm just chiming in to say that I've tasted this year's batch, it is great, and you should have a chance to taste it next week.

Damn...guess I'll bite the bullet and open a bottle this weekend. Thanks for the info though, glad to hear it's tasting good. Is it safe to assume that RS/HS members will be able to purchase more beyond our allocations once the current purchasing period is over?

    Yes, email went out yesterday.

Edit: Actually I guess no email went out, but the RS Facebook page said they're ready.

I wish all the tappings weren't on Mondays. If Southern California was some magical, traffic-free zone it wouldn't be as much of an issue. Since this isn't the case, it makes it such a huge pain.
