Hello all! Driving from Michigan to Georgia (through Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee) and I'm looking for some recommendations for beers to pick up. Good ones that are distributed to those states but not in Mich. I'll be staying in GA for a few days over Thanksgiving.

    Thanks in advance!

What part of the state will you be visiting?

Bottled North Georgia native beers include Sweetwater, Red Brick, Terrapin, Monday Night, Jailhouse, 3 Taverns, Red Hare (in cans). Newer ones only on draft - Jekyll, Blue Tarp, Strawn, Burnt Hickory, Grumpy Old Men.

There are some others in the greater Savannah area that are not available in Atlanta.

    Recommended bottle shops
In Lexington, KY stop by the Liquor Barn

In Athens, GA check out 5points bottle shop (two locations); ABC package store; and J's Bottle Shop

Check out seekabrew to compare the states distro
    http://www.seekabrew.com/distro/compare.html

I also recommend stopping by Nantahala Brewing on the way and picking up some bottles of their Trail Magic and other releases:

    Nantahala Brewing Company
    61 Depot St
    Bryson City, NC 28713

Pick up some Cigar City, their IPA is tasty.

Jai Alai just started coming to GA, but that's all I've seen from CCB. Just make sure your cans are pretty fresh. It loses its mojo pretty quickly.

Canned Jai Alai holds up very well for 2 months, though I prefer it under a month old. It doesn't fall off that quickly.

Coastal Empire (contract?) and Southbound. Not sure of the status of Blackpowder in Glennville. Statesboro has Eagle Creek, but I am not sure if they are draft only or have bottles, too. If you are there long enough to enjoy a brewpub, Moon River is a good place to stop.

Just picked up Jai Alai in Kennesaw, dated 2 weeks ago. Very fresh and an excellent IPA.
