A decent amount. A pallet wide and a couple cases high?

I guess the Costco version is good for two more days than the others.

Beer stored warm. Just the way IPA should be handled.

I think that IPA's stored at 50 degrees are fine. Have you been in a Costco lately?

Please. I've seen Enjoy By's at Trader Joe's on the shelf.

Having worked at Costco back in the day, that place is always kept pretty cold.

Especially a Costco a mile from the beach. Doesn't get too hot. And it's less than a week old.

What was the last "warm" Costco you were in? May not be in the cooler, but for me freshness and light are much bigger enemies of the IPA than temp. If you find a Costco selling $5.50 Enjoy By at 85 degrees I will avoid it. If it is in the right place (Costco, back by the meat and frozen seafood area) temp and I can open the case, I am fine with it. Remember the beer section is the farthest away from the front entrance, and there is a warehousing area behind the produce and butcher sections of the place. If there is one place that has a constant temp it is the beer/wine area with constantly running coolers between the butcher, prepared foods, and produce area. Bottle shops are twice that price around me, so yeah I will take up the Costco price at this point if that is possible.

Yeah, that sort of confused me, because in most places in San Diego you aren't too far from any Costco.

Interesting test - get a Enjoy By at Costco and an Enjoy By at a Stone Company Store (where is supposedly is kept cold all the time). Pop them both in the fridge for a day, then compare and contrast.

I'm not that excited that Costco has it for sale on the warm floor, but if they can sell out in a couple of days it may not make much of a difference.

Beer does not necessarily need to be kept cold. As long as there is not direct light and drastic temperature fluctuations it should have minimal impact on the beer. especially with something so fresh.

How is the floor warm? Costco keeps their alcohol near the back next to the walk in produce/milk freezers. You're fooling yourself if you think that these are being kept warm.

That depends on which Costco you are discussing. At the Morena (Bay Park) store, the beer is currently kept on the back right of the store, far away from the walk in refrigerators. I've never got the sense of it being warm there, though. I have a light warmup jacket I keep in my car just for my trips to Costco.

I'm currently visiting Mission Beach in SD and would love to try this; has anyone see it around here? According to Stone's Finder map there doesn't appear to be any in the whole of San Diego!
