had that last week, cask conditioned, at one of my local pubs. It was excellent.

Last night one beer I had was too awful for words, so disappointing... Buxton Smokey and the Band Aid, and yes it was rather phenolic, more like antiseptic.
Tonight on solid ground with the always excellent Yorkshire Dales Garsdale Smokebox

In total agreement on both counts Havercake you could guess it would be good on cask but drinking experience seemed to say to me that the bottling process robbed the flavours,
though that is the main disappointing aspect of Timothy Tailors - that they don't bottle condition.

I waited ages to sample Smokey & the Band Aid with changing jobs & being broke
and it just was so not worth the wait.

The rest of Cheshire however seems to be exploding with microbreweries
    added three recently
Quantum who are getting some casks out by 'Spoons so keep an eye out
Cheshire Brewhouse that make some great bottled beer
and Merlin Microbrewery which their Spellbound I am enjoying a bottle of right now
    really good stuff
**puts on Siouxsie voice** SpellBound SPELLbound SpELLbOUND sPELbOUND....

Staying on a mystical beery theme Sadler's Worcester Sorcerer

Their Mud City Stout was fantastically good
Their Thin Ice Extra Pale Ale was incredibly

This like slapping a jolly spiritualist holding a seance
seems to strike a happy medium :S

    Black Sheep's Yorkshire Square Ale

Always felt a little let down by Black Sheep

Is this going to be the beer that justifies the split from Theakstons?

This looks interesting. Signature Brew but a Double/Imperial/stronger-than-normal Black IPA by the looks of it.

Cool! About time for a band/beer collab with character....

Is this any good? I've got one lurking somewhere.

I'm currently drinking a Foster's Radler - nothing like a low ABV shandy when the nights are drawing in

I had a bottle of Thornbridge Wild Swan. It was pretty nice, and flavourful for a low gravity beer, but their pale ales do seem a bit similar to me. Never had the cask versions, mind.
