    1) I'd love to see you do a blind test between your Enjoy By that you bought at Stone versus one you bought at Costco when it first came out. I'm pretty sure you'd fail miserably.

    2) Do you really think Stone is concerned with profit? Why do they distribute to stores? Why don't all breweries just sell straight from their own brewpub or store? In fact, why don't ALL businesses just sell straight from the source? Hint - it has to do with said company making more money and benefiting from distributing. Also, Stone is in the BUSINESS of distribution.

You're honestly a complete tool. Clearly you've been brainwashed, to the point where you're basically preaching against buying distribution when Stone is a big distributor in California. How hard is it to understand that beer getting to the masses (in retail stores) helps our society? How much more enjoyable would BCBS if everybody could get their hands on it? Stone's not hurting.

That's not my point. But you get -bajajillion for reading comprehension.

As a BUSINESS I'm sure they're very concerned about profit. Its how they expand, higher more people, make more, donate to charity more and reach larger markets. If all businesses could sell in house they would. But...everything they sell in house returns the greatest profit. Ignore that and you're a moron. As beer advocates we should support our breweries the best we can, regardless of size. Point: Stone also has a distribution business but its not their entire business. They do a lot for new breweries who are looking to expand.

Uh....I said when the brewery is local buy at the source. Stone distributes cast to coast....I'm not saying anywhere not near a company owned store shouldn't buy.

Beer is a small part of Societe. Again you're missing the point of being a consumer vs. Supporter. If you live near a company owned store support them more via buying at their store. Maybe you need me to draw you a picture. What sort of crayon makes more sense.

    Drink and support local.

While i agree with the drink and support local, i think that when a company becomes that large it is no longer "Local". Should the people of st. Louis support anheiser busch? Golden colorado support coors? The incentive to support local is to keep them in business. Pretty sure stone will be fine.

    To each their own.
    Don't like Costco? Fine.
Want to support your local brewery and buy at it's peak of freshness? Cool.
No sense ripping on each other over what we all agree to be a great beer. Stone has been selling their beers at Costco for years now. I used to purposely go to the carlsbad Costco to grab stuff when I went down for the day, and to grab as much Phil's BBQ sauce as I could.
Personally, I get a kick out of the uninitiated perusing the craft bottles at my local Costco. I've steered numerous people to trying something they never knew existed or would ordinarily never dream of trying.

CostCo is great. Enjoy By is great. I will gladly buy all the CostCo Enjoy By.

If Stone sends beer to CostCo, and "we" boycott it, Stone has to eat that cost/lose money. It's my patriotic duty to go by some Kirkland EnjoyBy.

We should discuss our individual experiences with the temperature of our area's costco. Let's not forget that it is likely affected by the temperature outside.

He doesn't seem to understand that being a consumer is being a supporter. It's not black and white. Does buying direct support the brewery more? Possibly. Does it outweigh the benefits reaped by mass distribution? Probably not, otherwise Stone wouldn't be distributing. Why is this so difficult to understand?

It's pretty cool I think, but the coolness is very subjective and will influence your view on the quality.

I never said boycott. That implies en ouraging others not to purchase it or that the company is doing something unethical.

New patrons will buy it all up and Ba is a but a fraction of a fraction of beer consumers. Besides, Stone has already made their profit by selling to any 3rd party. They aren't going to lose anything.

The whole point behind Enjoy By is ultimate freshness...so buy from the brewery.

Uh...I bought 3 bottles at my local Costco on 11/11. The bottle date printed on the bottles was 11/8. How could it get much fresher? Do they have bottles rolling off the lines every single day at the brewery? Can I expect to buy a bottle of Enjoy By 12.13.13 on 12/5/13 with a bottle date of 12/4/13 at the brewery?

If DrtyBvrJuce's goal is to get a rise out of people, he seems to be batting a thousand in this thread.

To be fair, I think people are just trying to get a rise out of DrtyBvrJuce. The dude has a valid and ridiculously obvious point unless you're a complete and utter imbecile. That being said, I'm pretty sure most of the folks arguing with him are simply arguing just for the sake of arguing.

Moral of the story, buy your beer wherever the hell you want to buy it. I'm all for supporting the Brewery, but if I lived closer to a Costco selling it for 5.49 a pop, I'm there.

Drink Enjoy By and f*** what other people think, unless you feel like trolling, which in that case there's nothing stopping you. Oh well.

I'm not trolling. I'm sure there is info that noobs to the craft beer world may not know. This thread isn't riling me up either, takes more than that.

Oh no I wasn't referring to you about the trolling, I meant the others who seemed to be pointlessly arguing with you just for the sake of it.

    PEOPLE,

It's a massive IPA. I bet my bottom dollar (trust me, I don't have many) that most of you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in storage conditions or a massive beer like that when it's only a few weeks old. Buy it and ENJOY the damn thing.

I'm not sure to be honest but check Taphunter to stop. Also walk into a few random liquor stores or beery bars in the area and I bet you'll find it
