see mdomasks's post above. sounds like there is parking at the venue. also, free shuttle buses from the red line on 35th street.

Prob 45 mins, give or take. L is about 7 stops (I think) and the venue is 1.5 miles from the L stop. So as fast as 20 mins of the L is there when you show up after walking there; as long as 45 if you have to wait for the L

Oh I know, I've been before. My fiance, however, doesnt drink too much and she is nursing a sore tooth so will probably be taking it easy.

$40?! It's about 5.5 miles -- should be $20, and that's on the high end. Now, getting a cab back... Might as well download Uber now.

I was guessing $20 too. If we do have to cab out of there we will probably leave early because our train is at 10:30. so that may help our chances of finding a cab I suppose.

i wouldnt make that assumption. go to a fedex or staples and print it out. It's not like it costs that much and you'll be much less obnoxious at the entrance

5.5 Chicago miles. Which includes a "confused" cab driver with under-inflated tires.

The only issue with getting a cab back is that there won't be any to hail. So leaving a little early is fine but I wouldn't expect that to greatly increase your odds of hailing a cab (ie. near zero is pretty close to zero). Again, it's worth using Uber.

Also, they'll probably do a last call 30 minutes prior to the ending time. I forget when they called it last year but there's no way they were pouring until 5pm.

Well let this be a warning to anyone taking a cab -- 35th and Ashland is as easy as easy as it gets for directions and if the fare goes past $20, take the cab number and call the complaint line. Also, if they tell you they can't take a credit card, they are lying -- every cab is required to take cards (it just eats into the driver's overhead).

Eh, Uber is just the app -- the bigger problem is that cabs won't make the drive down just to pick up a fare. Still better odds than hailing a cab (I suspect).

Don't get me wrong -- I am pro-CTA (and I'll be rocking that #9 bus myself) and completely agree that it's an easier and cheaper option (spend those dollars at the food trucks). But if someone is hell bent on a using a taxi, they might as well have realistic expectations.

I plan on taking the Metra to Ogilvie, then walking a few blocks west on Madison to the #8 Halsted bus southbound ($2 transit card, $2.25 cash pp). The bus runs every 15 min. and takes only 20 mins or so down to 35th. That leaves you about 4 blocks east of the venue. Cheap 'n' easy if you don't mind a little bit of walking and want to avoid the cab fare.

There are probably even easier routes out there, but I plan on grabbing a hearty breakfast en route so this works best for me. See ya there!

I'll just say one more thing about using the CTA for transport -- if you haven't yet had the pleasure, have fun with Ventra!

And be prepared to shell out an additional $5 just for the transit card!

    For the more physically adventurous...

There's a Divvy station about 3-4 blocks away from the venue on 35th St. For those from out of town, Divvy is a bike share program. You pay for a 24 hour pass, then you can use the any bike from any station. The catch is that you can only use the bikes in 30 minute increments, after which you need to turn the bike into a station or get charged overage fees. However, you can chain station to station, picking up a new bike each time and staying in the 30 minute window for each one.

    Just another alternative.

Hey guys, i just found out my brother and his gf can't make it tonight. They have tickets to the evening session. All we have is the printable tickets with his name on them. Can these be resold or is he SOL?
