It's not douchy at all, just depends on what you want. Eclipse at $40 a bottle isn't too awful. It's $8 -10 over some on line stores.

In don't see more Gosse Island in my local grocery now that AB In Bev took over in fact I see less. I am looking at 18 month old sofie, pepe nero and matilda and have never seen BCBS or any of the other "girls" like juliet , lolita or gillian. What I do see is half an aisle of shocktop which you can keep.

“We must slow the volume trend of High End Segment and cannot let the industry transform,” AB InBev said in internal strategy documents obtained by the Justice Department, referring to the threat posed by imports and craft beer.

To hell with InBev. I don't mind swinging a few extra bucks or having to search a little more as long as it keeps some money out of those bastards hands.

Its called my beer cellar . People post "rare" and "vintage" beers that are hard to come by, wich you can purchase at a premium if you so chose to

I totally agree man . Not all the beers on there suffer from a insane mark up. I actually got to bottles of eclipse cheaper than it would have cost me to order it from a store in California.

More available craft beer is a good thing. Heck, maybe InBev will buy enough craft breweries that they will simply stop selling bud at some point in the future and then after weed is legalized they can start selling a different kind of bud.

Confused here as well. I see the website being referenced, but don't quite understand what's going on. I bought a four pack of BCBS last year for $13.99.

That's where my mind is at too. I'd rather buy a sixer of Narragansett Bohemian Pils than Pilsner Urquell (which is owned by INbev) even though I think Pilsner Urquell is better (even if only slightly). Some would call me crazy and say that "taste is the only thing that matters," but for me there are more important things than the taste of the beer in the bottle. Others would chime in with "Narragansett would do the same thing if they were as big as INbev, every business wants to crush their competitors." Indeed 'Gansett, like any other business, is trying to make money. But until I see those behaviors I am not going to preemptively judge them. Craft brewers have time and time again showed that, while they are in it for the money and they do want success, they also care greatly about the craft community as a whole. I don't see that out ABinbev (while at the same time I have seen examples of it from the craft community from coast to coast) and thus choose where my dollars go more precisely.

I wouldn't say The craft beer industry is cut throat just that InBev is a cut throat company

While most of the craft brewers and their distributors are a pleasure to work with. It is very much a cutthroat industry. For instance lets say you run a smaller independent liquor store. You want to carry Gumballhead, but the distributor wont give it to you because you don't purchase enough beer from them to justify shorting another account where they spend more money. Or another example would be Three Floyds hand selecting which stores are able to carry zombie dust and which cannot. oh whats that Founders only sent like 10 bottles of CBS to the entire Chicagoland area? good luck with that... In years pass GI limited and held back how much BC they put into the market for the reason of building up hype on it.

What I've noticed and experienced is that Bud or Miller distributors in varying regions seek small craft brewers (that they do not own) for the first time and away from smaller distributors, promising said small brewery the moon. Once the contracts are drawn, the big distributor cuts the number of skus, not carrying the full range, not keeping up with specialties and seasonals, and will discontinue said brewery if the sales aren't at a certain- sometimes absurd- level. I've seen perfectly viable and well distributed brands die off in many markets because the larger sales organization did not execute any type of plan whatsoever. Some Bud and Miller houses do great jobs with their "craft divisions", but others just don't care and if they "own" the brand, no one else is taking their ground. Look at the history of L. Knife and Sons for a lesson in how a big distributor can embrace craft and import brands wisely.

My beer cellar is a secondary buying site beer is sold by individuals at what ever price they feel like asking. Yes bcbs asking price has been &100, it's now $50. It's not an auction site like eBay but the sellers set their market.

With all these talks of how flooded the market is going to be, any chance anyone could trade a guy in Las Vegas for some BCBS?

The girls aren't moving here thanks to their price point. Gillian is almost $25 a bottle. I figured that the prices on these would drop thanks to the inbev economics, but such is not the case. I do think speculations are low because inbev is promising to make more, however I don't feel that the price at the checkstand is going to drop. These speculation websites play off of how rare something is, while inbev is playing to get the most $ per bbl they can.
On another note, I wish sofie woulf hang around for 18 months here. I don't have the self control to age this one and would be happy that someeone was doing it for me!
