My girlfriend's sister and brother-in-law want to get me some bottles of 2013 Friek as a Christmas gift, but they're not well-versed in Odell releases and have a newborn to take care of, so I'm trying to get a little more information to help them out and make it as painless as possible.

How early do people need to line up at the brewery to get bottles? Do they usually sellout on the first day or do bottles last for a little while at the brewery? Is Friek distributed to local bottle shops?

Any help the BA community can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You will have no problems getting a bottle unless you go to Lukas. And that's the truth.

Gets to stores and should be able to find it for a few weeks

You don't have anything to worry about. Bottles will be available at the taproom and local stores for a while.

Yeah, it's like rabid animals out there filling their baskets with as much beer as possible. So if he was to go to Lukas I would recommend he get their super early.

Haha. Saturday's ROYGBIV release was pretty insane. I think my wife almost got trampled.

It was my first time, so I was a little shocked when I saw everyone run to grab their bottles. At least I got my 3 violets though.

Thanks man, the beer was worth it. My favorite out of the series.

But in all seriousness the raffle raised a lot of money and the release seemed to go pretty smoothly. Except for the guys who grabbed two or three of each color in the series, you know who you are. That shit was not cool.

I came in late and was wondering where all the WWB beers went...that's sad. Got a L'Brett D'Or for myself at least.

I got there at 2:00pm on the dot and was confused that there didn't seem to be any WWB beers

We do what we can. All suggestions are taken and thought over. We will be getting Friek again this year and doing a release for it. I think we are done for the year for cellar releases. We have to work on building that up again!

Oh no complaints about how you guys handled it, didn't mean to imply that at all. I was just surprised because there wasn't that many people there but everything was gone, I assumed that just meant there wasn't many bottles to go around, which made sense to me

yeah but you get a lot of hoarders, so easy solution is just put a bottle limit
