Just about to book my flight to Amherst! Can't wait.

$5 for the right to purchase 8 bottles with no need to wait in line. This is the way to run a release.

Had it at FOBAB, my palate was a little compromised but I remember being underwhelmed, too much bourbon and pretty thin, did not remind me of 15 which I loved. Anyone have a better memory?

I imagine this was the unblended version, which won't be quite what it will taste like at release. But could be wrong of course.

I agree with this. Had it about midway through the event, but it did seem thin to me.

I don't have to fight FIBs for bottles so thas a plus but now I gotta fight them for tickets so that's a minus.

I thought we had learned by now that CW stouts are not the thickest?

I had it at the Black Gold release and thought it was amazing!! I guess i did prefer 15 tho (which they also had on tap)

The bourbon will need to "cool down" a lil bit tho

somewhat true, but Black Gold is the exception to the rule.

15 was not on tap at the Black Gold release.

Yeah, this. When have we ever had a full-bodied CW BA stout??! Not hating; I love their stuff. But it sure could use a bit more body.

In an unrelated story; please trade me all your 16. It's turrible.

I believe Fifteen was on tap early in the afternoon, not long after the event started, and then Sixteen a bit later. From the tastes I had then and at the Great Taste, there's no question the two are very different beers, though it's probably not fair to judge Sixteen until the final blend that gets bottled is available.

I will still bet my entire cellar that it's thin-bodied.

I actually don't mind the viscosity (or lack thereof) of CW's stouts, it's quite nice to have a stout with great flavor that doesn't feel like drinking steel cut oats. I haven't opened my BG yet so that may very well be the exception to the rule.
