I missed this batch and I've heard it's one of the best yet. If you're in the Madison area lmk, I'd take a few off your hands if you're so inclined to share!

I stopped there after work. The manager was pretty pissed. I guess there was supposed to be a limit but when he was out someone didn't get the memo and let them buy most of the allocation. Pretty dick move. We'll see who it is when they start putting up daily FT: Pseudo Sue trades.

I'd say that's on the manager ultimately

Anyways, Sue is for drinking. Not trading and sure as shit not hoarding..

So true. I totally agree on both points. It's frustrating when people brag about trading the good, local beer away. Also, you shouldn't hoard because it seems to fall off fast. The second of two growlers I picked up last week is no where as good as the first. And we are only talking about a few days.

but it maybe Sue overload…(never a bad thing )

I really don't have anything against trading it, as long as its not obscene. I have a trade going on right now with someone who isn't able to get any Sue. Why wouldn't I want to share a delicious beer with them? Is it wrong to grab an entire case when there's a bottle limit for the sole purpose of trading...I don't appreciate it, but whatever. Buying two bottles with a two bottle limit and trading one away, if you feel like you got snubbed by not getting a bottle while I sent one away, get in touch, I'll share what I traded for.

Oh, I don't feel snubbed at all. I have never had Sue from the bottle; I just drink it every time I go to El Bait Shop etc.

I look at it like it's just a beer (a delicious delicious beer that I recently drove from Omaha to Decorah in order to drink all day one Saturday and bring back five growlers. Lydia and Nicole were awesome! Thanks!) nothing more.

I'm just saying Sue is that good. Drink it, don't trade it for something that won't be as good :grinning:

Lol, to be clear I did not drive back on Saturday. I was there Friday night - Monday morning.

Beer Baron retweeted a photo yesterday of someone displaying a hoard of Sue bottles...wonder if that was the person?

I only kept a few for myself and my wife. I distributed the rest to neighborhood beer lovers. I would've loved to have kept a case for myself, but my wife texted a picture to some of my beer drinking buddies as soon as she got it. I couldn't not split the case up after that.

Maybe be true of growlers, but only if not carbed correctly I'd think! But, in bottles, Sue holds up very well if you ask me. I just drank my last bottle from the Oct. 3rd bottling a few days ago....tasted great!

I think someone should send me a few bottles to test the question of how well they hold up. Just doing my part for beer science. Yes, I know, very selfless of me.

For sure, the bottles are great as were the growlers. They growlers just not quite as awesome as I remember Sue being, but then again I drank ALOT of Sue over the past five days.

I feel very few places that can growler do it accurately, not because they don't know how but because they just don't have the right equipment. If you hold onto a growler for more than a week you're going to notice a difference in taste from the bottled equipment for sure.

This is true. I had a month old Sue side-by-side against a 3-day old ZD. I don't think I need to point out which one was vastly better.. hint: it was the Sue.

If you stay within the limits intended, you have every right to do whatever you want with your limit.

Drink it, trade it, share it...whatever.

I personally will drink the Sue on draft, because it's amazing, and trade the bottles away for other beers I can't get.
Both parties are happy, and I could
give a rat's ass what anyone else
    thinks.

And yes there are many beers that are just as good, and quite a few more that are much better than your precious bottled Sue - IMO

I used mine (from last time) to land a DDG. It was particularly useful for trading.

Thank you. Sue is a great beer and if it gets you access to other great beers that you can't normally get trading is great. And it also gets the beer to a broader market which I'd assume the brewery wants as many people to try their beers as possible.

They do make great trades, I agree. Traded a SOSUS for Speedway Stout Vietnamese Coffee and a SOSUS/Sue for a Crooked Stave reserve and Rumpkin. Those people were beyond thrilled to be trying the beer, as was I.
