Evil Twin Bourbon Barrel Imperial Biscotti Break

I picked up a few bottles last night in Westchester, New York - $25.99/bottle.

 

I know the Willett people black out lots of their barrels in that fashion. But the ones i have seen had black paint on the entire bottom of the barrel.

Not that it matters. how recently the barrels were dumped and how long the beer sat in them are the main factors. Its nice to say its a van winkle/stagg/makers barrel but its not much of a factor in the end barrel aged beer.

 

I bought 2 bottles each of: IBB, BA IBB and IBB Natale from charlestonbeerexchange.com earlier this week. Check it out. Just please read their rules for online ordering first.

 

How are they w/ shipping costs?? Fair?

 

I thought it was reasonable. 6 bottle shipper was $11 plus actual shipping costs of $16.

IBB was $14 each
BA IBB was $26 each
IBB Natalie was $14 each

Not sure if they still have some. They were very fast with processing and shipping my order. Highly recommend them.

 

I'm still holding out hope we see this in NC.

 

We've seen the other two. Though I don't see myself parting with $26 for this.

I've paid more for beer, but I gotta agree, probably won't be spending $26. Don't love the other variants THAT much.

 

Still haven't seen this in GA.. Not that I would expect it to fly off the shelf at a probable 25 bucks.

 

its everywhere in Charleston, and in no way is it worth $15, let alone $27. Not trying to be a hater but I definitely prefer regular imp biscotti break

The idea of this beer barrel aged sounds great. Still thinking of grabbing one to throw in the cellar for some time.

 

It's quite boozy, I agree but the rich thick goodness of the base imperial biscotti break seems very much lost - like its not even there in my opinion. Still enjoyed it but it did not meet expectations at all (which were very high), and at that price, I wouldn't buy another for half of the price.

 

Bought some today in Binnys on Marcey street. $22 a bottle.
