Voted for Oatmeal Stout because I have not made one since I switched to all-grain at the beginning of the year. I already have a RIS conditioning in bottles, and an American (Rye) Stout is in a carboy waiting for an open keg.

RIS - I've been planning to make one to age next to my barleywine. Oatmeal or American would be interesting too. I'd even like Sweet/Milk Stout, but that has little.chance.

    +1 oatmeal.

I'd have to seriously scale down the recipe to do a RIS with my BIAB equipment.

I had no idea so many lurkers were in this forum. There's almost 100 votes.

Anywho, I went oatmeal but am now thinking I would like to do a milk stout. Mmmmm, lactosey.

Go big or go home. RIS drinks well in the summer with a steak and well in the winter when you're stuck with the family.

Voted American Stout... after brewing 50 gal of 12% RIS for our barrel over the past few days, I don't need to go anywhere near another RIS for a while. Thankfully our friend was willing to do 10 gal to take a bit of the load off and get us to 60 gal.

I have the keg of our test batch on right now.... mmmmmm.

Definitely up for anything but a RIS. I want to enjoy the beer we brew this winter. I still have bottles of past RIS that will suffice, not too mention the boxes of commercial stuff that sits in my cellar.

    Oatmeal is making a push!

I'm cool with something we could potentially drink sooner than later. 8 week max.

Is it possible to brew an oatmeal stout with extract and steeping grains without doing a partial mash?

I guess if we opt for using just Golden Naked Oats instead of flaked, it would be possible. Certainly not a traditional oatmeal stout, but would be tasty, and I'd make a push for a portion of the oats used to be GNOs anyhow.

That RIS got started fast and vigorous, but now it seems to have stalled...
