Try checking out "Bottles" up on NE Fremont.

Last time I checked, 2 months ago, they were soaked in Pliny.

That shouldn't be a problem. There are at least 6 or 7 places in Portland that get kegs every year. Horse Brass, Higgins, Saraveza, Apex, Wildwood, and the Station are all likely bets. Some places like HB and Apex just throw it on tap and deal with the chaos of "first come, first served", and other places do ticketed events. Keep an eye on the forums for the inevitable "where to find PtY" thread and you should have plenty of opportunities to drink it.

Last year the Brass put it on tap alongside PtY, Notorious, and a bunch of other huge beers, and it was fun doing side by side comparisons. The general consensus of the group I was with was that Notorious was better, but the highlight for me was having a "black and tan" comprised of half PtY and half Suge Knight. I'm still not sure how I managed to walk home...

Heading back to Belmont today around 5pm. I'll post here if its still around. Otherwise, try calling "Bottles" in NE -they are pretty good about having it from what I can remember.

No bottles at BM, but they did have the new Enjoy By if you're a fan of that. 1 bottle limit per customer though.

I know Belmont had Pliny on tap as of yesterday as well, don't know if it lasted through the night or will last the day, but I plan on heading over to snag the last pint if its there around 4 today. So don't drink it all, please.

The paucity of quality ipas in the Portland area, which in turn requires one to chase after Pliny, is quite mortifying. ;(

No disrespect to either phobicsquirrel or caylorswift, but they're both fairly new to BA, and so I assume are not all that familiar with the beer scene in PDX. After a bit I think they'll both discover that while it's often difficult to find bottles of PtE, the draft version is relatively easy to around town, and so doesn't require any special effort to obtain. Personally, I've always been a big fan of PtE, but given how (relatively) easy it is to find around town, and how many other outstanding local options there are in town, it's pretty hard to imagine going out of my way or making a special effort to get some.

Shrug. That being said, PtE is a highly rated and highly regarded DIPA, and for someone who hasn't had a chance to try it before (or very often), I can absolutely understand their excitement over the prospect of getting some. So I wish them nothing but luck in finding it around town, and I hope they enjoy it when they get it.

It should be pouring for at least another couple of days. It's been on since Sunday, and while it normally only lasts about 3 days it's moving a little slower this time because people are being distracted by the Barley Brown's WFO and the Bend Hop Head.

On another note, Enjoy By should be on tap today as well.

I quite agree. The last couple of PtE's have been in draft form during my most recent forays to your fair state. Personally, I think it taste better on draft. If I find bottles, I'll purchase them only for trade purposes.
