Alchemy Hour name change

That's funny, because Alchemy Ale sucks big hairy donkey balls. Confusion between the two would only help Widmer.

"Chillwave" is a silly name.

 

Call it anything--back in March 2014 is awesome--one of the best new things that came out in 2013.

I suspect no one who knows anything about beer would confuse about anything Widmer makes with Alchemy Hour--excuse me--Chillwave.

 

I wonder if now washed out or neon indian, or any other hip chillwave acts, will get upset that they are using chillwave. even though chillwave is so 2010 & '11

That being said, I really don't care what they call it. It is what is inside the bottle, that goes inside my glass, that I consume that concerns me. This stuff was outstanding, WAY exceeded my expectations, and cannot wait to get my hands on it again. Fantastic DIPA!

 

Not a big fan of the new name, big fan of the beer though.

 

Call it what you want. I will buy it and drink it many, many times over.....

I couldn't care less what they call it, as long as they keep making it.

 

I personally (notice the word "personally" boys and girls) think the new names sucks, but this beer was AWESOME! I bought one 4-pack initially and ended up getting 6-7 before it was done for the season. Very happy they are keeping the beer, but I wish they would have picked a better name. Can't wait for March 2014!

 

A good beer regardless of the name, though I think Chillwave sounds a bit lame.

 

Sounds like chill haze right? And Alchemy Hour is the coolest beer name since arctic panzer wolf.

Hey now. I've been diggin on the new Washed Out record for a while now. It's good stuff.

 

Funny how Widmer made GL change the name, then all of the sudden, Widmer Alchemy Ale is all over the Cleveland area! Unfortunately for Widmer, there's still a ton on the shelves!

 

Chillwave sounds very Jeff Spicoli, and is a corny name, but like others say, the contents of the bottle are the main thing. And F Widmer Bros for messing with a good thing. Everything I've had by them has been a mess and now I will ratchet my hate for them to 11. The better beer should've been allowed to keep the name.

 

I didn't get to try it under the old name. Gonna have to cross state lines and grab it this Spring.

For what it's worth, Alchemy is a good APA. I imagine most of the people shit talking it just dislike it because it's Widmer (and would imagine most haven't even tried it).

 

It's entirely forgettable, that's the only reason I dislike it. There are WAY too many APAs out there to spend money on that middling brew.

But if you did, I'd still drink that shit...bitch.
