Heading to the cities this weekend, hoping I can find me some more cacao bender on tap. Anyone know where it's being poured?

Looks like it was on tap last week at the brewery (https://twitter.com/SurlyTap) so it would probably be on this week as well.

They generally have sweet food trucks at the brewery. But its usually only on special tap takeovers or such special events at bars. There was one place that I think had it on tap last week uh...Red Cow in Edina I think (not sure if they did have it on tap, but it was to be a huge surly tap takeover).

Has Moe's Bender been completely replaced by Cacoa Bender now? I haven't seen Moe's Bender anywhere in a while.

I think it's not as rare as it once was. I had it not too long ago at Richfield Pizza Luce. I asked the occasion and the bartender said they are making more of it now! From what I gather, moes bender has been "retired". Not to say Surly won't brew it again though...

Good to hear, I have seen more tappings recently but most of them were special releases I heard about. Still glad to see it popping up more even if it is special events. I'll be perfectly honest I've never had it, really want to but never could get out often and now my beer budget has hit negative numbers so I'll be enjoying whatever exists in my cellar for quite awhile it seems then just homebrew.

I've been wondering the same thing. Personally, I like Moe's better, and I've been sad not to see it recently (though Cacao is still really good).

Cacao Bender has been tap at Alery's in St. Paul for the last few weeks. I had one this past weekend, so I assume its still on.

According to rumors and speculation, and some people saying they have asked at the tap room, Moe's Bender will probably never be brewed again. I was sad when I heard it, but unless it comes from Omar, i will hold out faith.

I have also heard this, though not from Omar's mouth. I am quite devastated, as Moes bender is in my top 5 all time favorite beers. The Oaking takes this beer to another level. I also remember it being lighter on the cacao.

To the Surly Gods ( @hopdragon @MasterChief ) ...PLEASE bring back Moe's! Cacao is great, but Moes was still better. I know you're crazy busy, but slip it in once a year =) (and maybe throw a little in a bourbon barrel to make the greatest beer of all time)

I'd gladly pass on Moe's to have Cacao in cans!
