Surly Coming back to Chicago?

Just enjoyed a Cacao Bender and a couple pints of Furious with some Belgian mussels and frites. Alas it's Monday nite and I couldn't stick around for Omar's arrival, but recognized a whole lot of Surly's bearded homies in the house at Hopleaf. Welcome back!

 

Shot the shit with Omar for a few minutes earlier at Hopleaf. Great guy. So glad Surly is back!

 

The event on Dec 5th willl be at the Tribes in Tinley Park

 

Had several Furiousi at Tribes Tinley last night. A very welcome return. Don't get down to Tribes that often, but it's ALWAYS a good time. Good people, great staff, ambience, and food.

 

had my first coffee bender last friday when my stores distributer came through with some sample cans.. mmmmmm cant wait to try the rest of the lineup

Any word on whether or not Abrasive will be available in Chicago? I didn't see it listed in any of the press releases. I can keep F5-ing at France44's site, but I'd obviously prefer buying it here in town. While Furious will become a standard in my fridge, Abrasive is my first love during the winter months.

Had my first glass of Furious today (and topped myself off, one of the benefits of pouring my own beer), and look forward to drinking as much as I can from this brewery in the coming months. As for bottles it'll probably be like Maine right now which is to say every store will get a couple bottles and they'll sell out instantly. After a few weeks/months hopefully it'll die down and be much easier to procure.

 

Well, the first 2 cannings of Abrasive have been 10/30 and 11/5 and I've had a four pack from each. It's tasting as good as it always has so hopefully it will enter the Chicago market sooner than later. The last cannings of Abrasive run into March so I would hope to see some around here eventually. Here's hoping.
