srsly. I was limited to a single bottle of Abyss yesterday. It felt wrong and made me feel like a member of the underclass.

I set my own bottle limits, and then break them. That's how we do here.

Your supplier could of only gotten a single case as distribution was very limited this year I hear, wanted to make sure other customers got some abyss love too, cant blame em for that

Seems like the kind of thing an Oregonian would say.

I don't have a problem with bottle limits in general but I'm not really a fan of the 1 bottle limit. I understand it but I wish places would at least do a 2 bottle limit. Especially on brews that can be aged. It's nice to taste the difference between a new fresh bottle and one that has been aged.

For most releases that tend to be 1 bottle limits, I just don't hunt for them. I would rather drink some other of our amazing local brews that are readily available.

bottle limits bug me as well, but I do understand why some places do them. I just have my wife go with me when I buy beer so I can get 2. then I go back the next day. however there are usually a few places I can go to get the allotment I desire.

I'm not saying that I enjoy bottle limits, but coming from the point of a business owner mindset, you don't want to upset many customers by selling all of your very allocated beer to make just one customer happy. And thats what I mean when I say "cant blame em for that"

I agree it's annoying, but I get it. You want to spread the love around as much as possible, and then of course the greater the number of customers you can make happy by selling them a rare beer, the greater the likelihood of increased, repeat business (which from a business standpoint, is what it's all about).

To the OP, I would suggest that if it bothers you that much, then don't play. That's what I do here in Eugene whenever there's a PtE bottle release. Only one place ever seems to get bottles of PtE, and whenever they do, they impose a one bottle purchasingl limit. Like you, I find that annoying (not sure what the number would have to be to make me happy, but one bottle ain't it), so I don't participate.

I got 3 bottles. That's enough for me. I will drink one and age the other 2.

It's far easier to be apathetic to these new, and not improved, versions of the Abyss.

Did you see Hills is serving 6oz pours 11, 12 and 13 for $9? Not bad at all.

I did see that. They look to be doing the vertical thing every year now.

I think the post was somewhat in jest as Abyss is available for at least a couple months here at grocery stores with no limits.
