So I had my first Head Hunter. Awesome brew. Not 18$ per four pack awesome but awesome indeed. Could definitely see myself drinking this regularly if it was distributed here.

Honestly I was under the impression they checked to see what was in there

Because of this thread, I bought a bottle today just to see if my first impression was off. I'll post my thoughts once I have it. I got a mix 6 of that, Green Flash West Coast IPA, Ithica Flower Power, Chimay Blue, Duvel, and Commodore Perry IPA. Most expensive 6 pack I've ever bought...

Not to my knowledge. I have had successful shipments through USPS as well.

Don't care for the west coast IPA. I beleive I'm in the minority with that. The flower power is awesome. Bought a bottle of the Commodore last night to try out.

I just reviewed both Flower Power and West Coast IPA back to back. Flower Power completely blew it away. Flower Power has a great smell to it and West Coast had next to nothing on the nose. I didn't think it was anything special and I wouldn't buy it again honestly. Flower Power ended up with a 4.15 and West Coast IPA ended up with a 3.71. It was lucky to be that high I think.

Head Hunter is an excellent beer, but for me a little underwhelming. I remember when they first bottled the stuff, I was stoked to find 2 four packs and immediately snagged them. At the time, it was in the bottle for just 4 days so I guess I was overly excited. To me, it was a little too balanced and a little too bitter. It wasn't bursting with hop flavor which I have come to love in an IPA. I personally wouldn't put it above Alesmith IPA, Sculpin, Jai Alai, Founders Harvest, and my local favorite Columbus IPA. It probably is in my top 10 favorite IPAs, but no.. I wouldn't expect to be BLOWN AWAY. I've learned over the last 5 years that hype, while sometimes valid, should not be used to form judgement for a beer. We all have different palates, so why should I exclusively trust the opinions of others? Just go into trying beers blindly, that is the best way to truly mold your own opinion of a beer (me saying this is a little hypocritical because I still like to check out ratings of beers from time to time before I buy them).

My wife brought me back a 4-pack from a business trip to Indiana recently and I was really suprised how good this IPA was. I would put it right up there with some of the better IPAs I've had. Not a top 5 or so for me, but still very good. I will definitely have her pick it up again on her next trip.

Glad you enjoyed it. I was in Pittsburgh last Christmas...drank a case while I was there, brought two cases home along with a case of flower power. Oh how I love thee!

Its a great IPA. I had it on tap at the restaurant in Pittsburgh. It's a delicious hop forward IPA. Enjoy!

Kunda had it about a month ago or so, I went and got the second to last case.

This was the first time I've had it and it's an excellent IPA, probably top 10 for me for sure. I only wish we could get it regularly here in eastern PA, but I don't think that's going to happen.

    Great beer.

Called them today. They don't regularly have it. He has a buddy who brings him some when he comes to town. He said he really never knows. It wasn't like he could say yeah I will have some next week.

I had one last night to see if my palate has changed recently. I had it on draft at a bar down the street from me back in maybe June or July. I didn't care for it then. But at that time, I was just starting to appreciate IPAs. I very much enjoyed it last night. Very citrusy and piney. I am glad I revisited it as I had previously disregarded it from my first sampling of it.

Just picked up some cases. If anyone is ISO please bm me. I don't have any successful trades yet but then again I have not had anything worth trading until now.
