    It's a bit early for Christmas beers still, but I can't help but get excited when they release the Christmas seasonals at the monopoly with a bunch of dark lager beers from the Swedish macros. The dark Bavarian style lager beers died off pretty much in the 90s, but when it comes to Christmas beers the macros still come out with their own versions of dark lager beers which are typically maltier and sweeter than the standard pale Export lager beers, along with a good roastiness and bitterness to round out the flavor. I prefer the pale drier beers for most of the year, but when winter rolls around it's a nice change of pace and something to look forward to.

    Flower Power and Jail Alai are probably my favorite every-day IPAs (not saying some West Coast IPAs wouldn't be, if I lived out there). Still, having a Heady (or PtE for you Californians) available every day has been wonderful. :slight_smile:

    The most important part of my holiday prep has started...I just picked up a growler of Stone Espresso IRS and Enjoy by 12.13.13 for Turkey Day...Can't wait to celebrate~!

    I was impressed by the Global Warmer, nice and citrusy, didn't pick up on any spices. 7% abv, 70 IBUs, I think it's closer to an American IPA than a traditional warmer, and I like it however you categorize it.
