Noticed the reserve society release of Tart of Darkness this year announce it was aged in Black Tuesday spent barrels. Last year said it was only oak barrels...

Anyone try the new version? It doesnt sound like it will be like last years which I absolutely loved. Also not too excited with the $5 increase

I doubt anyone has tried the final result considering it was just blended today...not sure how "blending" works, but it looks like a bunch of tastes from a bunch of different barrels before the final combination of beer. I loved last year's version, so if this year's is any better, than I'll be VERY happy with my 6 bottles.

Sounds like it should get it's own listing since I doubt it will taste anything like last year's.

That's $17 after the RS discount, last year's was $15 before the discount. So it's $5 more, around $4 more for RS members this year. I loved it last year, probably buy a fair amount less this time though.

I agree, I would imagine the bourbon from the barrels won't really show but definately would have a sweeter note than last years. Only got 3 last year but should have gone for a case.

@DocaliHops - I am definately happy with my 6 bottle allocation and am certain it is going to be good, just feel like last years was perfect, why screw with the formula?
