I honestly don't know the answer to that question. I don't consider Newcastle to be a craft beer although I'm just guessing. I do remember after moving to Indiana there is a bar with an around the world wheel on it and I do remember having my first Ayinger Celebrator there (it had a horse on it!).

Had to have been Sam Adams Boston Lager like most people, but I don't remember specifically. I do know that was my first craft 6 pack I bought in college a few years ago after turning 21. I think that is because of where I live.

Beez Neez I guess that's probably the first real craft beer I ever bought.

It wasn't my first. But, the first craft beer i fell in love with was Belleaire Brown by Short's. Still love it.

My first was Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. I had no clue what Dogfish Head was, I just thought it came from India because I didn't know IPA was a general style of beer haha.

Full Sail IPA. It was the first beer to get me on the taste buds and in the heart!

Dogfish Head 60 Minute was my first and I loved it...bought it with my buddy who ended up hating it so more for me.

Sam Adams and Harpoon in the late 80's. A return to college prevented expensive tastes, but once I got a job again, Pete's Wicked Winter brought me back to the craft fold.

Sam Adams Boston Lager when I was really young, but I consider Firestone Walker 805 my "gateway" craft beer because I haven't had anything but craft beer since.

The first time realized beer could come in another color than the ever popular Busch Light yellow was in college when a friend got a keg of (unknown brand) porter. I remember seeing something brown pouring into my glass and I exclaimed "What the fuck is this???" "Porter??? I thought you said it was beer!" I hated it. I guess I wasn't quite ready for that yet.
Then I moved to Boston and was introduced to Sam Adams and Harpoon.

I guess I was equating it with popularity. It's still considered a craft brewery.

I don't remember. I switched from the inexpensive Budweiser, Keystone, Coors, mass produced cheap pilsners to only craft ales after my first deployment. Drinking what was on tap in multiple foreign countries. I came back and the cheap pilsners with their aluminum taste did not work for me anymore. After that it was a lot of experimentation. I spend a lot of time in BevMo buying single bottles from all over the world.

Now I find myself drinking my own more than any other.

I have no idea. Probably Moose Drool, it is the first beer I remember thinking, damn that's good.

Anchor steam was my first craft beer, but Sierra Nevada Pale Ale set the hook and it's still lodged in my throat.
