Ivan the Terrible 2013 vintage

    Just picked some up today and was wondering if anyone has tried this yet? Would appreciate any thoughts/opinions of this years 13.8% abv batch.

    Doesn't appear to be many reviews of this one yet. Why not go ahead and try it (since you've got it) and provide us with some feedback instead of staring at your bottle and wondering what others think of it?

    If you only have the one, go ahead and pop it open. I always enjoy trying a new beer as it is intended to be fresh. I've tried several vintages of Ivan and, while it ages well, it's still pretty fantastic fresh. Take some notes and then try to pick up another one to cellar and compare down the road. Either way, though, enjoy the Ivan. I look forward to it every year and am sure you won't be disappointed.

    And the increase in abv continues...

    But I got to say, I've never been disappointed with Ivan whether in the bottle or from a Growler fill.

    The ones I saw in Madison are all green bottles. If you are cellaring, make sure the bottle stays in a dark place.

    Haven't had it yet but I have it on my beerdar. Have you had Hardcore IPA from Brewdogs Scotland. Great stuff only 9.2% abv but the dudes who make this are famous rockstars in their home town. It's super Taylor Swift and Miley going at it.

    I wish more of this stuff was staying in state! It's hard enough to get our hands on even a fraction of the great beers that are chatted about on this site, then when you have a good one and it gets sent off it's even worse.

    I had this on tap and it was good, not my favorite R.I.S but very drinkable. However, I tried it in a brown bottle and I couldn't drink it, I had to drain pour the whole 4 pack, maybe it was infected
