Does anyone know or can anyone confirm whether or not CA is getting any Backyard Rye?

 

I confirmed yesterday that it will not be at the City Beer event in SF on Friday, which doesn't bode well for the state since that's the official release party.

 

I wanted to put an update on here as far as our release at Adam's(http://beeradvocate.com/events/info/64899) We have the Coffee, Barleywine, and Stout confirmed by distributor, however there are some logistical problems with the Backyard Rye and we are not sure if it's going to make it for Friday. We are planning on mixing the 4pks with 1 coffee, 1 barleywine, and 2 stouts and customers will be limited to 1 4pk per person. If there is any left over after lines are taken care of then we will relax the limits. Hope this helps. Cheers

I spoke to the girl today. Apparently the limit is 1/ea of the rares for the first few people in line. 1 4pk of the others per person as well.

Both people I spoke to on the phone there sounded almost..afraid.. Maybe they don't know what they started?

 

Oakland Bevmo got 4 cases yesterday and were sold out today at noon when I walked in.

 

Holy crap... Lmao I was the first guy to get one last night. The manager was like "buy these..NOW"

I got 3 4packs. If you want one beer, you're welcome to it.

 

Dang, I missed out. I was there yesterday too and it wasn't out yet.

 

I would have gotten another 2 packs, but I already was grabbing 3 Abyss, and 2 Firestone 17's...among a slew of other things.

I'm going to try this tonight, but seriously man-you're welcome to a bottle if you didn't get any. I got 3 4packs knowing that I'd only drink 1, and trade/give the other 2 away.

Unless you're a douche... then I won't give you any...

 

I'm pretty sure every BevMo between Mountain View and SF is getting 6 cases. It shouldn't be hard to find by Friday.

 

Is bevmo only getting BCBS, not coffee? Bevmo by me told me they wouldn't sell any until Friday. Funny how some have already started selling it

 

Distiller's in Poway just got a few cases. They're selling them at $9 a bottle, limit two bottles.

Fuck this place.

 

Stopped by two spots in Glendale/Burbank and phoned Total Wine in Reseda. All are getting bcbs in but no word on barleywine/coffee/Backyard Rye. One mentioned that coffee/barleywine got to the distributors late and that even their bcbs shipment was hand delivered by a rep instead of on the truck.

 

Total Wine Northridge came in today. $22 a 4-pack, limit 1 per.

Bevmo in Northrige also has it. $24 a 4-pack, no limit. Price match to Total Wine, and the result

Bevmo on La Cienega is selling them at a 2 4-pack per person limit.

 

Do they have all the varieties?

Just got a bottle of each (BCBS, Coffee and Barleywine) at Vendome TL. They didn't get Rye.

 

I just got back from there. I was told they're not allowed to sell till Friday.

 

Only a few random spots seem to be getting the Barleywine, anyone know the what's up with that? Seems no Bevmo's or WF's will get any BW. Seem like the only place in teh Bay Area getting the Barleywine is CBS. First world BA problems.

 

Green Jug in Woodland Hills has barley wine. Limit 1-12oz bottle per person, $6 a bottle. Fuck that.

 

That puts it at roughly the same price per bottle as BCBS...is it supposed to be substantially cheaper?

 

What's wrong with that? I've usually found the singles from between $5-$6. Is it the limit you take issue with?
