FW Invitational 2014

Overall, lines were brief. The exceptions:
1) BADL was absurd. I didn't wait in it, but it was the longest line of the day by a huge margin.
2) The Bruery's special pours were also fairly long, I didn't stand in them so I don't know exactly how bad, but I would guess you had to get there 10 - 15 minutes before a given pour to get it.
3) Russian River's line ebbed and flowed, it wasn't as bad as BADL or The Bruery, but was the only other substantial line of the day.

Aside from those three, Cigar City's was a bit crowded right at opening, but everything else flowed really quickly.

 

The Bruery was a mess and it wasn't worth it when you factor in how many other great breweries were there. The lines aside for maybe two or three tents was non existent, or a few people deep at worst.

Alpine was the other that had a line for a bit, but it moved fairly quickly and unless you really snoozed on it, you got what you wanted out of there.

 

Agreed on the Bruery being a mess. What made it worse was that they were in an area that was already crowded with breweries and then decided to have a "regular" line and then a "on the hour special pour" line. These lines pretty much blended together and there was massive line cutting. Since at least one of the pours was from a magnum you had the added mess when they just started pouring samples for anyone who put their cup up. Thus people raced to the front and were rewarded for it. Russian River did this the first year opening a magnum of something and then having people swarm around.

This was still, by far, the exception and there was minimal time waiting in line for anything else.

 

Must stay awake for 30 more minutes.

 

Final stretch, so close... trying to keep that Grey Monday & Choc Rain from putting me to bed. Will post review of Ferero Rocher beer-experiment later. Spoiler... it was delicious.
