Wow! Don't think you could have run any further out of context with my post. By interesting I mean miscalculated demand, the very reason they had to have the second release at 7:00 tonight. And kudos to Roger and his staff for doing so. They thought it would last into tonight and possibly tomorrow, even put it on their Facebook page and everything. I have always recommended Bestway to my friends traveling through Greensboro and stopped by when I was in town and will continue to do so.

The "truck chasers" comment was tongue in cheek because all of a sudden 50 some cases becomes 5 by 1 in the afternoon. But I guess that didn't come across too well on the interwebs, so sorry if I rustled some jimmies.

What's the rationale of releasing this beer in 1 market, but not even at the Brewery or Charlotte?

I assume it was just a scheme to make me wait until I'm home for Christmas to get my bottles

It wasn't just released in one area last week.... just more publicized in one area:wink:! And I'm pretty sure that Olde Hickory has the beer on tap at the brewpubs, but they never do big brewery releases (except for the upcoming anniversary beer....can't wait for that one!!).

Release day in hickory. FYI no limits at Olde hickory station on EH. Also available at hops and grapes, limit 4pp. Lindley still available at both.

It was not available on tap or in bottles at Olde Hickory on Friday, but was blowing up shelves in the triad. The Charlotte release isnt until this coming weekend. Just seemed strange. I should have done my diligence, but i was not too thrilled to arrive at Olde Hickory on Friday night as I was returning from Asheville to find they hadn't released it at the brewery yet.

The good folks at Bestway and Olde Hickory have a special relationship. I would say that Bestway has been a huge supporter of Olde Hickory longer than anyone, and the store is nestled nicely in the old Lindley Park (another Olde Hickory- Bestway release) neighborhood of Greensboro. It's symbiotic- good for the brewery and Bestway. I would say the entire episode was a huge success and will happen again.

Most folks here are aware of the relationship between OH and BW. But if I'm reading this group correctly, the concern here is that EH is in the entire area (Greensboro/Winston) and not available for sale in Charlotte or the brewery.
