Berliner Weisses tend to be relatively cheap too. Festina Peche is on sale for $8/4 pack here, it's $10 per when it's not on the clearance rack.

Yeah, yeah, my apologies. I was half screwing around anyway...although there was a smidgen of seriousness behind the snark, as I truly do believe that, if "value" is taken to mean quality of goods versus dollars spent, Cantillon wins out.

As far as stuff that you and I can readily get (as I see you're a fellow Bay Stater), Night Shift makes a mean sour.

Le Terroir prices have been all over the place here in New Mexico. Found it for $9 on Friday, but that was after I'd bought two bottles at $14.... Whole Foods is selling it for $16 here....

Place by me sells Rodenbach Grand Cru for $8 and most Jolly Pumpkin stuff is between $10-12 around town, I can even find it at Cost Plus World Market of all places.

Surprised no one has tossed in Liefmans Goudenband, $10 a 750 for a super awesome blended sour brown ale available pretty much everywhere. If you haven't had it then do yourself a favor and try it.

$8?!? I want to live where you live...I haven't seen it for less than $20 around me.

Lindemans Gueuze Cuvee Rene for sour beers; Goose Island Sofie and Matilda for wild (brettanomyces). I guess some of Jolly Pumpkin's less sour beers could fit in either category, like Oro de Calabaza or Bam Biere. They're also more expensive than all three of the options I listed above.

Anyway, the Cuvee Rene is pretty much Lindemans' only authentic lambic and it's typically $9.99-$12.99 for a 750ml, or half that for a 375ml. It's the only lambic you can regularly find for under $18 per 750ml. Four-packs of Sofie and Matilda should run $10.99-$12.99, and $8.99-$10.99 for a larger 765ml bottle.

Rodenbach Grand Cru. 9.99 for a 750 (sour)
Rayon Vert 11.99 four pack (wild) - though what is left on the shelf is all that will be for a good while
Westbrook Gose 13.99 six pack (sour)

Petrus? Nope. Not a good value if the liquid is crap.

If it's in your market, Westbrook Gose is roughly $11 a sixer and is very tart. While not as refined as a barrell aged sour, it still gives me the puckery sour flavors I crave.
