Staying about 2 miles (or so) from Candlestick Park, don't have a car (well renting one Saturday to go to Russian River) but what are some good bottle shops to hit up near that area. Staying in Daly City if that helps.

    Thanks.

Stay safe at Candlestick. Not a good neighborhood at all, so I don't think you will be finding any fresh Pliny around the stadium. If you have a car on Saturday hit up the SF stores, hit RR and Bottle Barn and you will find plenty of stuff. Question, if you aren't going to have a car, how are you getting your haul home? Shipping? If so I would hit up the SF stores first and ship everything from Sonoma. They all have it down to a science up there.

I would recommend taking BART into the city and hitting up some of the shops there. You're not gonna find much in Daly City or South City. Good lumpia maybe.

as stated, nothing is near Candlestick. A little gem of a store that is [somewhat] nearby is the Monterey Deli on Monterey St near SF City College, closest BART stop would be Glen Park, and then you'd walk several blocks.

Daly City is not near Candlestick.

Your best bet near you is BevMo, but you can hop on BART and easily shop in SF or even Oakland.

Sure it is. Not saying candlestick is in Daly City but they're certainly near each other.

Fully agree with rest of your post though.

You could Caltrain it up to the city too and it would dump you off within a cab rides distance of all of SF

Nice site!! Can I get the BART in Daly City?

Also everyone else, Thanks for the advice as well..I figured we'd have to hop on the BART or some other form of public transportation to find good stuff.

The hotel we are staying at is BridgePoint Inn Daly City...the Google Maps says it's 1.9 miles from the stadium...or 4.3 if you go the alternative route or 2.5 miles if you go yet another route. Either way, I think it's pretty close, unless my knowledge of California maps is flawed?

Do you mean this BevMo? 201 Bayshore Blvd San Francisco, CA 94124

Either way, having never been there before, I planned on going into "town" I guess, and checking out like 21st Amendment and stuff, but wasn't sure about beer stores.

Google Maps will give you pretty reasonable public transportation options too, under directions.

Again, if you are going to have a car for one day driving up to RR, use that day to load up on stuff. Go go City Beer, Toronado, then up in Santa Rosa hit up Bottle Barn after RR. If you have to ship stuff home because you are flying home do it up in Sonoma. If you are looking at hitting up beer bars in SF, take BART up to a downtown station (probably Montgomery if you want to hit up 21A) then cab or Muni it up to Toronado, Magnolia's, then back downtown to the Mikkeller bar. There are a bunch others, but that would be a start.

    Why the shipping from Sonoma?

The UPS and Fed Ex stores are experts at shipping wine (being that they are in the middle of wine country). They have everything streamlined and easy to do. Beer should be an easy adaptation. Down in Daly City I don't know what you can expect. Plus you don't have to haul it around and carry it up to your hotel room, then back down. The UPS store in Santa Rosa is easy to get to and quick.

Do you tell them it's beer / wine or just per pack it and drop it off as I would in pa? That's why I'm confused..

I'd just pack and drop it off without telling them. A lot of places won't ship beer. You can get styro shippers from a lot of places in the area too.

They are more than happy to pack and ship beer/wine. They will help you pack it. It is perfectly legal to ship it to yourself. If you have bombers/750s use the wine shipping inserts. for smaller bottles/cans see what they recommend. The stores will bubble wrap.
