Hi my name is Todd and my 3 year old son Ben has Autism. He was non-verbal for the longest time and wasn't meeting his milestones. After lots of Speech, Occupational and Early Intervention Therapy his social interaction skills & speech are coming along slowly. At age 3 it becomes a little more difficult to get services due to age/insurance related issues etc. We decided to enroll him in a school that has all the therapies he needs under one roof.

    My Goal:
Jakes Sake was generous to help my family with school tuition, copays for therapy etc. I want to pay it forward and be able to help other families of Autistic children. Tuition for the school is over $6,000 a year and Copays can range depending on insurance from $15-$40 a visit ! Recently Charity LIFs have brought in good money, I'm not setting a specific dollar figure for a goal with this LIF, because the sky is the limit!
    Here is their Mission:
For Jake’s Sake is a non-profit, created to raise money and provide the ability for autistic children to access effective therapies they otherwise could not afford. Children with autism need certain therapies to overcome their symptoms, yet schools and health insurance providers may not provide access or adequate services to meet the child’s needs. We will provide qualifying families the funding to obtain effective therapy – because every child deserves the chance to realize their full potential.
The Vision of the Board is to provide funding to families for ABA services relating to their child’s autism. The Board strongly believes in ABA therapy as a means of helping a child learn to their fullest potential. Autism services are not readily available in most cities and towns. There are waiting lists for Early Intervention services, and at age 3 the services are even harder to obtain. ABA therapy and other related services come with a high price tag. The Board hopes to alleviate some of that financial burden so that children with autism do not have to go without the services they need.
Founded in 2008 by Dawn Cobak and other concerned parents and professionals, For Jake’s Sake aims to offer financial assistance to qualified families. We strive to ensure that no child is turned away, however our abilities will rely on our funding. For Jake’s Sake is a 501(c)(3) organization relying on the generosity of corporations, foundations and individuals to fund our mission. Your support allows for the providing of funding for programs that develop essential skills for children with disabilities.

Also please send me a private message with the amount donated. The president of the charity will let me know who and how much was donated. The charity is in no way affiliated with this raffle, just looking to stir up some donations.

Shipping is to the 48 lower states only right now.

Thanks so much everyone and......... We're off

Ah , no the title of the LIF is just referring to Box #1 being raffled off

Hahaha. I don't think the title applies to Shaun Hill at all. He's just a brewing savant who would ideally want to be left alone and is stressed out by all the people who come up to his ancestors' farmland in the NE Kingdom.

If only there was a way for breweries to sell beer at a different location other than their brewery...

There are plenty of ways as you know, but what it comes down to is the brewers decision how to brew it, bottle it and sell it. That is a discussion that I'm sure people could 1. Judge and criticize all day long and 2. Could be discussed if need be on another forum thread. Let's stick with the current topic.

We want more updates, How much $$$ has been donated thus far, any more boxes?

People if you want a chance to win you gotta cough up the moolah, its only $10 for a chance to win, the money goes to a great cause, and you can feel good about yourself around the holidays for doing something nice. Also feel free to brag about how generous you were in this thread after donating

I second this, it's certainly for a good cause. I threw in for 2 tickets, but its not about the beer for me- I've met many families who have really needed the support and didn't get it so they had to move elsewhere which is a big undertaking. I'm not even running this LIF and I really appreciate that people are adding boxes to it.
