Region Specific IP-Trade Forum

This would be helpful for people like myself trying to get into trading!

 

If more positives help this get done, then I'll add my voice; this is a great idea. The IP trade system doesn't function well now.

 

This idea has been proposed several times over the past few years, and it always seems to die. I am in full support, and glad to see this getting much more traction than it ever has before.

 

I absolutely support this. Dibs on red for Massachusetts tags!

Todd and/or Jason, I'm probably missing this, but is there a way to just be able to watch a single region (New England in my case)? I seem to only be able to watch the entire IP forum. Thanks.

Couldn't this just be done by adding tags for IP trades in the regular ISO:FT forum? I love in person trades just as much as the next guy, but I'd rather be able to find all trades in one place, rather than having to click a bunch of different things and opening multiple tabs. Usually if I see an IP trade not my area in the title, I don't look. But sometimes you miss that when you see a beer you really want. If tags were there, you'd be able to know right away.

 

As someone who prefers to trade in person, but is often willing to ship... I think this is a nice idea, but poorly implemented. Having to look in two places for essentially the same thing is bad design. I agree with bricenice on tagging the original forum would be more ideal. Perhaps use a default Shipping tag unless a region is specified?

 

For those of us in the northern part of the country, IP trading means we can keep trading year round, through months where a shipping trade is out of the question because of cold temperatures, and I'm very glad a separate forum has been added to support it. The old way with IP trades buried in a larger mass of threads really wasn't working.

For the record, this is outstanding. The implementation is also great. If there were one thing I'd like, it would be for it to default to my region first, but not sure that's possible and it's not that tough to click the region link. Thank you guys!!

 

I think European zones also need a region tag. Such as Benelux and others.

 

Why not just have a tag for all zones that there are forums for?
Benelux, Germany etc... There are a few of us on here from Europe who might like to do IP trades/people visiting Europe.
