I drank a Hunahpu last night because it was Thursday. Don't forget to ENJOY the beers you are receiving. The right time = anytime.

    Welcome to the addiction!

That's fine. You certainly have more time on stouts, but it is a common myth that all stouts are good candidates to hang around. Some should be drank just as fresh as an IPA. Coffee stouts, for example... coffee fades just like hops - so BCBS Coffee and Breakfast Stout are generally preferred fresh for this reason. Maple (CBS) is another thing that can fade.

Yeah, really. I've got to drink that CBS I've got sitting in my cellar.

Yeah dude watch out. If you aren't careful you'll end up doing 50 trades per month and have to stop because you won't have any money left to feed yourself.

Trading is fun. Take a break (2 or 3 weeks) every once in a while to recoup some capital and drink down what you got, or else you're going to have an empty wallet and a bursting fridge.

How fresh/bitter do you like your coffee taste? If you like an aggressive coffee character drink those coffee stouts now. If you like more of a subtle or mocha character you can let them age a little, but don't let them go more than 6 months or so without trying one to see how they are doing.

If I had to age one, I'd choose Zhukov's instead of Hunahpus.

???? now im totally confused???? Zhukov is the base recepit of the Hunah..i would the think the Hunah would last longer since its on steriods.have you even tried both next to each other? or better yet a 2011 to a 2012 Hunah?

Because it's all that extra crap they throw into the bottle that fades, and that's what makes it Hunah.

Not sure what you mean by "on steroids" - it's the same ABV.

I had 6 glasses on Kate day. My logic is i drink 6 glasses at the brewery on Kate day save a couple for myself then trade for other beer i want. I kind of like my logic

to me a rule of thumb anything with a 10% or higher alcohol is perfect for aging..But the guys from the north are correct you do start to loose some of the virgin flavor when you age..its all up to you..nothing is better than a fresh little betty in the wrapper that your the only hands have touched..as you hold her in your hands and make her feel safe just before you pop the top off and those juices of pure nature touches your lips for the first time..she screams out to spread me around and share me..wow..sorry got carried away

On BCBCS - I find the coffee to be way way way too intense for my liking. I'm looking forward to tasting a bottle with a year of age on it.
