Sunday, 12/8 I am driving up from NC to CE. I'll be taking 95 the whole way up; so ill be going through VA, DC, MD, DE, NJ, just outside of PA, & NY at the end. We're leaving here early that morning so will be in the mid VA area around noon, to give a time frame reference. if anyone has any suggestions as to right-off or close-to the highway spots (we'll be cramped for time probably) to hit up I would love some suggestions. hopefully the cramped for time situation may have its leeway spots so feel free to shout out anything if you can! Cheers everybody!
DC Brau (DC) and Tired Hands (NJ) would be on the list for me. On your way through the northern states I would keep an eye out for Nebco brews, Fathead's Head Hunter and maybe head a little north of CT to VT and grab up some of the great beers VT has to offer..(HF, Lawson's, Heady). Safe travels man!
Not a beer recommendation, but my travel recommendation would be for you to take I-77 to I-81 instead. I-95 is just a complete headache and probably longer from the queen city. in addition, the 77 route is much more scenic. my .02
Absolutely. Lots of great alternate routes north, especially if not in a big hurry. 29 North (from Greensboro) up into D.C. is a real piece of history, as is 360 east (off of 58 at Danville) from the Dan River at South Boston to Richmond. The Southside of Virginia has yet to be discovered again.
thanks everybody! didnt get to hit all the spots mainly due to time & the 12 hour trip back began at 11:30 PM. found some awesome places & drank some great beers!
